Third Person POV:Tanjiro sat on one of the rehab beds, watching as the light drained from the sky outside the window. Nezuko was curled into a ball inside her box, getting ready to wake up. He blamed himself for Kyojuro's death, for not going to help him defeat the demon.
Tanjiro: "It should have been me."
The darkness engulfed the sky, as stars began to reveal themselves. Nezuko yawned and opened her box door.
Tanjiro: "And now because of my weakness, Akaza gets to take more lives, ruin more families."
Nezuko crawled out, growing back to her default size. She looked at her brother with a blank expression. (Not a thought behind those eyes)
Tanjiro: "I'm so sorry Mr. Rengoku.."
Tanjiro started to sob into his hands. Nezuko could tell he was in pain, but didn't understand, nor remember why. But, she understood enough to know that her brother needed comfort. She sat next to him and laid her head on his shoulder.
His companions, Zenitsu and Inosuke, didn't walk in to comfort him either, for they were going through their own types of grief. Zenitsu was stress eating while having an emotional breakdown in the dining hall, meanwhile Inosuke was taking his anger out on the training dummies.
Tanjiro stayed up for the rest of the night, grieving over the loss of his friend, the Flame Hashira.

Akaza's POV:
I must have fallen asleep somehow, because I don't remember doing anything until Kyojuro shook my shoulders.
Kyojuro: "Akaza, wake up."
Akaza: "H-huh?"
I opened my eyes to his bright eyes, giving me a serious look. His irises seemed to glow almost.
Akaza: "Yeah? What is it?"
Kyojuro: "I think it's night out now."
I leaned forward and looked for the crevice that Kyojuro had pointed out earlier. It was dark outside.
Akaza: "Finally."
I looked at him and smiled mischievously.
Akaza: "Let's get outta here, and go get you some food. Can you see yet?"
Kyojuro: "A lot better than before. And while you were snoozing, I carved a way out for us."
Akaza: "Huh?"
He winked at me and moved away from a tunnel in the wall he was leaning on. He had taken the sword and carved out large rectangular pieces of stone off the side of the cliff, making a tunnel.
Kyojuro: "It leads all the way back up into the cave we were in before you made it collapse."
I looked away in a guilty manner.
Kyojuro: "It took me like an hour to make it, but even longer for it to harden back to its normal temperature. I made sure to take off that cape and sheath before doing it, but unfortunately, this weird uniform outfit got burnt in some places by the hot rocks."
Akaza: "That's fine, you need new clothes anyways."
Kyojuro: "Also, I'm surprised you didn't wake up while I was slicing apart the stone."
Akaza: "That makes two of us."
I inspected the tunnel a bit.
Akaza: "I'm grateful you got us a way out, but my only problem is if one of us slips, we're gonna end back up at the bottom of the cavern."
