ZACHARIAH'S POV
I considered myself lucky for being the highest again in our quiz, even though I was in a state of hangover. As the bell rang, I headed towards the university canteen, holding my notes and focused on memorizing human anatomy. Lost in concentration, I accidentally bumped into someone. Looking up, I saw his face shining radiant—it was him again.
"Ginagawa mo?" kalalaking tao tinatarayan ako. He was wearing a jersey uniform with a Thunder sticker on it. The name of their team is Thunder Titans.
"Just memorizing" tipid kong tugon. He pointed his index finger in my forehead
"Puro ka naman aral! Look" he turns around.
"Syempre para sa future!"
"This is our new uniform, did you see that number?" pagmamayabang nito. It was number 31, my Ate Sierra's birth date.
"That is my lucky number" masayang usal nito.
"Bakit 31?"
"That was Sierra's birth date... March 31" he confidently muttered.
'I know'
"Do you know what this jersey made of?"
"Cotton?"
"Boyfriend material"
Kaagad akong nasinok sa sinabi niya.
"Ok ka lang?" Pabirong turan ko. Tulog pa ata. Masyado siyang mahangin ngayon ano kayang nakain niya?
His sweat is dripping in his body. As the tournament draws near, basketball players from every department begin practicing and gearing up for competition. The stakes are high, as the winner will represent us in the international sports festival.
"Stop staring! Your eyes are gonna pop! You might melt!" he says loudly, his voice carrying a mix of amusement and teasing.
"Langya ne'to! Feeling naman na type ko!" pambabara ko.
"That was harsh! By the way, you should---" naputol niya ang sasabihin niya nang biglang umakbay sila Justine kay Kennedy. Ginulo-gulo nila ang buhok nito. Pinagmasdan ko lang silang nag-aasaran.
"Hoy pato! Praktis tayo ulit!"
"Shhhh! Quiet tol!"
"Eyyy pato! Palagi na kayong magkasama nitong si Zachariah ah! Nakakaselos ka naman boi!"
I interrupted them.
"Excuse me, with all due respect, why you call him 'pato'?" I curiously inquired.
"Kasi mukhang pato eh!" bigla silang nagtawanan agad.
"If i would give him a nickname it would be 'bulldog'" mas lalong umingay ang tawa nila sabay palo kay Kennedy. Nakipagsabayan na din ako habang nanlilisik ang mga mata niyang tumitingin sa amin. Tumalon talon pa sila at umapir sa akin.
"Are you mocking me Zachariah?!" Kennedy exclaimed.
"Wow Zachariah! I love your humor!" sabi ni Mark.
"You call it humor, but I call it Fact!" straight forward kong sabi sabay walk out.
"Oww! Savage!"
"Tripple kill boi!"
"Ano ka ba?! Double dead nga!"
Hindi pa ako nakakalayo ng tawagin niya ako sa aking pangalan.
"Zachariah!" sigaw nito. Napalingon naman ako kaagad.
"Panoorin mo practice namin!" tinaasan ko siya ng kilay habang napakamot sa batok.
"After that we gonna do your return demonstration video" he grinned playfully.
