As I'm walking down a street,

I click my fingers to the beat.

Car horns beep and tires skid;

I hit the top of a metal lid.

Babies cry, a cellphone rings;

I tap my feet to the sound of things.

Children shout in a noisy crowd;

I hum the rhythm and laugh out loud.

Litter crinkles, puddles plop;

I knock the wall - I cannot stop.

As I'm walking down a street,

I click my fingers to the beat.
