Sorry for not double updating yesterday. Had to take care of my health but I'm back now!!

Evelyn spent time showing proof of her earlier fit. Indeed every share was in Diedre's name. Enlarged and in print.
Holy fuck. And all this happened over-night? No. This had to have been planned.
Just how long had Hero been speaking to that witch?
"Is there any way to rectify this?"
My intern flipped through several papers.
"There's only so much I can do with what I'm given. It's confusing. When Chester left the company he insisted this enterprise entered someone else's hands."
Oh, yes. Right. She had been around since he ruled this building with an iron fist.
"Evelyn... How long had you been stuck in the position as intern?"
This made the woman raise both brows in consternation.
"Stuck? Ma'am. Not sure I understand."
"Well... You're qualified for a more challenging stance. This isn't meant to be some forever job. What would you say to be coming my consultant or even manager?"
For the first since we met, Evelyn displayed such personality it was tangible.
She bounced on the balls of her feet screaming in earnest.
Good thing we'd retired to her office.
"Mrs. Tiffin! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
I laughed.
"Don't mention it; could use some extra help. Now let's get this situated so we can start reversing Diedre's mess."
Before much could be done, however, the office door slammed against the wall creating a commotion.
It was my daring husband, utterly wasted. Dear God. He was completely drunk. At work.
Jesus. So that was what he'd been doing all night?
"What- mess-?"
This caused me to rush forward and set the man upright.
"Hero. Please leave. Look at your state... This is foolish."
He responded by simply brandishing a cigarette and attempting to light it.
Holy crap. Seriously.
"She was right- you- don't tell me- what- Fuck Krisina- you've ruined my life. Every bit of it-"
This made me glower.
"Who? Your grandmother? No one is in charge of how you feel except yourself."
Hero narrowed his eyes lowering the bud.
"That's not true. Look at what's happened. Lost Every one in my life and am nothing. And that putrid child... God..."
Okay now I was getting tired of this nonsense.
She was a damn baby!
"Evelyn, please fetch security. Have a feeling shit will hit the fan."
As she left, Hero skidded across carpet nearly face planting.
"I'm- man-! You obey-!"
"No. My only duties are to love and cherish. Remember my vows. Do you remember yours?"
This made him blanch but wasn't what mystified me.
No. It was our guest.
None other than Diedre entered the office smiling like she had the cat in the bag.
"Sure he didn't remember them last night."
What?
"Get out of my building!"
She merely snorted.
"It's my jurisdiction now, sweetheart. He made sure to hand over all deeds. Would do well to listen from now on."
Just then a lightbulb went off.
"Last night?"
"Oh yes. Hero called me and begged to stay over. Quite the romp. Anyway. Figured we'd make it over here and let you know what's going to happen."
Oh, how chivalrous of them.
Honestly couldn't believe my ears but really. Was it a shock?
"Meaning?"
Diedre grinned.
"After I take full control of the company again, you will be under my thumb. Then... Hero will be in my care as well as little Eleanor once its proven you're an unfit mother."
Fuck this.
Trudging forward my nose pressed against hers threateningly.
"YOU WILL NOT TOUCH HER!"
The pristine molester pushed me back.
"Stay out of my way and maybe things will go a lot smoother."
God.
What was happening in this world?
How was that cliffhanger? Lmao.
Some of you will really hate Diedre this book.
Love you all. N
