As I heard my alarm clock ring, ** beep** **beep** I realized I hadn't got a wink of sleep that night. All I could think about was the idea my dad and mom had about sending me to an obedience camp for delinquents.
Staying up all night helped me realize that for the longest time, they don't trust me. If they did, they would not have thought that the "best" thing for me was to be sent away for a month and not be able to tell anyone, for our family's reputation and image not to be tarnished.
Suddenly, as I heard my mom walking up the stairs, I quickly popped two Tylenols in my mouth while throwing the rest in my bag and got up to get ready before she got to my room.
As I finished, I heard a soft knock on my door "Come in" I said. As my stepmom walked in, she let me know the breakfast was ready but not to bother my father in his office while in a meeting. Ok mom, I'll be down in a second!
As I started to walk down the stairs, I could hear my dad and his clients chatting. Walking across from my dad 's office to the kitchen to get ready for breakfast I heard my mom whispering something to our driver. A few seconds later she walked to the kitchen as if nothing happened. "We have to leave soon kid" she quickly stated. All right I guess I'll take my breakfast to go... I quickly grabbed my bagel and bag and hopped into the car as the driver started on his way.
On the way i couldn't help but look outside. The way everyone looked at us made me feel like an outsider. Just cuz my dad was rich, it didn't mean i was one of those rich snobs. I actually cared about others, i tried for so long to get my father to donate money to the orphanage. Ever since i found out i was adopted at 10, i tried helping out as ,much as i can.
