Angel stared at her boyfriend of 7 years in disbelief. She could not believe what was coming out of his mouth. Though this was not the first time they fought like this, this was the third one this week.
"Do you hear yourself?" she asked tiredly. Quackity rolled his eyes, "Oh come on Angel. Don't act like it didn't happen-" "I didn't say it didn't happen. All I'm saying is you better word it right or-"
"Or what? What are you gonna do Angel? Run away from the argument?" Quackity cut her off.
Her jaw dropped, he did not just say that to her. "If I remember clearly you were the one who walked out last time we fought." She pointed out as she raised an eyebrow at him.
He snickered, "Because you were pointing out stupid-" "Oh so it was stupid now that you cancelled our plans for my birthday dinner for a stupid stream?" she cut him off.
Quackity glared at her, "Don't call my job stupid-" "Quackity! I get it, you enjoy it, you have passion for it but fucking hell, it was my birthday!" she yelled at him.
Angel couldn't believe how their relationship had turned out. The two were neighbors since they were kids, they both went to the same school, had the same friends and had the same dreams of going into law school and becoming lawyers.
They had big dreams, dreams that always consisted the two of them being a part of each other's life. But when they moved to LA where they are studying law, it seems as though it all started to go downhill.
Angel was not one to get upset, Quackity knew that but it seems as though he was changing. Don't get her wrong, it was good to change for the better but it seems as though he was growing and she was being left behind.
She was entirely proud of where her boyfriend had come. She loved the community and it was the same with her. But this time, it was different.
Angel sighed, "Q, I waited for 5 hours. Our parents flew all the way from home to see us and we let them sit there for the whole night because you were out filming a fucking vlog." She argued.
Quackity sighed and shook his head, "You have to understand, this is work Angel. This pays the bills and the tuition, it's for our future-" "What about now huh?" she asked him.
He looked at her confused, "What?" he asked. Angel scoffed and shook her head, "You think about the future and I get that. It amazing that you still do but Q, I'm still here. We're here and it feels like you're starting to forget about it." She said.
"Are you saying I'm neglecting you?" he asked as his voice broke. Angel sighed and looked away from his hazel eyes. This made him scoff, "Oh come on Angel. Isn't me working hard and giving you what you want not enough-"
"All I needed is you! And you can't give that!" she yelled making him freeze. Angel looked back at her as the tears fell uncontrollably.
Quackity sighed and walked to her but she moved back, wiping her tears on her own. She shook her head and sighed before looking away from him.
"Angel..." he trailed but she gulped and refused to look at him in the eyes. She felt her knees buckle as the sobs came out of her mouth.
That was it, Angel realized what was happening. Q was a passionate man and that was why she fell in love with him in the first place. In him, she saw a man who works hard to become better. She saw a man who never gives up and who gives his all, all the time.
There was a time that he was as passionate as his work and dreams with her. He was there for every occasion, New Year, Valentines Day, Christmas and every birthday, he cherished her like she was one of the greatest things in his life.
But right now the man in front of her was not the same man. He was not the same Quackity she fell in love with.
She let out a shakey breath as she looked back at him, and at that point, he saw it. He saw how she really felt.
