“The ballroom in the east wing has been out of use ever since the construction of the new one in the north wing, a few hundred years ago,” Alexander told him as Jungkook finally left his chambers after a whole two weeks.
The human couldn't help but feel anxious as he hadn't completely healed yet. He didn't want a repeat of last time.
This hallway was different, more exquisite. On either side of the hallway stood guards, and along the high walls were huge portraits of what Jungkook assumed were royals, surprisingly there weren't many portraits enough for Jungkook to count on his hands.
The portraits all had different people but the manner and style were the same. The king sat on an intricate throne in a heavy fur robe of red and white while the queen stood beside him in a silk gown of blood red.
It was the same in all of them. The colors and the style.
“Are all these Jimin's royal ancestors?” Jungkook couldn't help but inquire.
Alexander nodded, stopping to glance at the portraits, "These portraits are of the monarchs of Drakania. There were around six monarchs that ruled Drakania with His highness being the seventh. Three of which died due to assassination."
Jungkook perked up at the last part, unable to stop himself from asking, "What about the other three?"
"The other two died due to natural causes." Alexander turned to Jungkook, with a smile he said, "His majesty is still alive. And yes I know humans believe vampires are immortal, but that isn't true. Vampires stop aging physically but like all creatures, they have a limited lifespan. It is just longer, around half a century."
Alexander stands for a moment longer letting Jungkook observe the painting before he turns to move, saying, “His highness will also have his portrait done a day before the crowning ceremony.”
Hearing the words Jungkook was once again reminded of what Jimin was, despite all that Jimin had done for him and continued to do so, Jimin was a crown prince who was going to be the king and would soon be married.
Surprisingly the ballroom wasn't far from Jungkook’s chambers, it was just down the hall and up a flight of stairs. Hence, the train of Jungkook’s thoughts stopped along with Alexander, who gestured towards a set of double doors, “The prince is waiting.”
Jungkook glanced at the dark wooden door, he didn't know why but he suddenly felt nervous.
And when he turned to glance back he saw Alexander disappearing down the hall, ditching him.
