Sherylin pov:

The monitors went wild as the peeping sound resonated off the walls. My hands instinctively went around my throat as a poor attempt to help my lungs do their work properly. My lungs rose and fell but the air didnt seem to reach my brain cells which were striving to rub their intelligence about the information that just got dumbed on me. I felt like a fish that just got swooped out of the waters by a hawk. Wesley regarded me frantically with worry in his eyes as he tried to hold me down but I scooted away on instinct. Hurt flashed his eyes but he stayed close as he tried to urge me to calm down

****30 minutes earlier****

The darkness in my eyes finally gave away and my eyelids flattered open. I was in a strange room and an IV was plunged into my left hand a clear liquid dripped through. The heart monitor peeped on intervals. I groaned lightly as I looked down on my blanketed body. The ideas of that night rushed and I remembered that man and Wesley begging me to stay awake before I passed out. I groaned as I remembered his angry face. He was so mad because I lied to him.

Just then the door to my room flew open and a good looking guy dressed in a back slacks and a white coat over his white shirt walked through. He gave me a polite smile as he approached my bed. He looked to be around my age and I could help admire him. I had always wanted to be a nurse. I always dreamt of helping people. He checked the drip and the heart monitor before turning to me. The smile on his face never faltered.

"How are you feeling?" He asked softly.

"Like I just got stabbed." I joked and he laughed lightly.

"You are lucky they got you here in time you had lost a lot of blood and you could have gone into shock. Thankfully your wound wasnt infected and youll be fine in a day or two and you will be healthy like a plant." He said as he checked my temperature and drip.

"I really hope so." I said softly. I didnt want to be in the hospital for long. He pulled the blanket lower and I froze.

"Relax I'm just going to check the wound I promise I wont stab you"He joked and I relaxed a bit. I could tell he was a good guy because of his lighthearted nature and I let myself relax.

I was only wearing a shirt and my shorts were nowhere to be seen. I blushed deeply as he lifted my shirt. Just then then the ward door was almost thrown off its hinges as a seething looking Wesley filled the doorway before his eyes narrowed on the nurse.

"What do you think are you doing?" He gritted and I could have rolled my eyes if my head wasnt pounding slightly in my skull.

He was hovering over the nurse in an instant and he pushed back the blanket back to just below my nose. The nurse went to say something but I shook my head at him. I didn't want him going at it with the raging bull that was Wesley.

He stood there standing in his black slacks and white button up shirt from yesterday. A bit of my blood was still smeared his shirt. His eyes looked tired and from the looks of it he hadn't gotten any sleep. After the nurse exited the room his eyes turned to me and all the anger was gone replaced by pain, worry and concern and something tugged at my heart when his pained eyes mine. I had expected him to yell at me but he looked rather relieved to see me awake.

He pulled the only chair in the room and sat close to the bed. His built body looked weird in the small chair and he looked out of place in the small room. I smiled a bit.

"I'm so sorry..."

I started remembering how I had lied to him. His hand on my face stopped me. He caressed my face and I let out a breath I didnt know I was holding. At that moment I felt safe.
