Aizawa woke up somewhere dark, feeling like he was floating.

"I don't have long, Aizawa Shouta. But I wanted to speak with you before you return." A voice said. It was young, the same age as his students, and male, but it was accented, and speaking in a language other than Japanese that Shouta still somehow understood.

"Thank you." The voice said. "Thank you for being his friend. Know that I will not take you from him as long as he calls you such."

And with that last message, Shouta's other senses suddenly returned, the man scrambling before Hizashi managed to calm him down.

"It's okay, Sho. You're in the hospital. You did it. Everyone is safe."

Dabi growled, kicking the burned table so hard it broke. "Fuck." He swore.

Keigo looked just as furious, opening his phone to text Perseus.

"Who would have just killed him like this?" Mari asked. "It wasn't boss, was it?"

"Nah. Amahiko isn't in the business of messing with us, especially not with something this serious." Dabi said. "Someone else beat us to him."

"You think he was just a puppet?" Ren asked, poking the corpse with her foot.

"That or his people turned on him." Daiske said. "How did we miss this? Not this, the entire USJ attack?"

"I knew villains were gathering but we thought it was just another gang recruitment since everyone was low level." Keigo growled. "But attacking hero students trying to kill All Might with street rabble? That's just was just stupid it never even occurred to me. Like a kid trying to do a speed run."

Ren paused. "Do you think this puppet master was trying to teach?"

Dabi paused. "He was trying to teach, but realized that we would come after him and cut his losses."

"Schist." Meri swore.

The five Rats exchanged looks, before scattering into the remains of the now abandoned bar, leaving Tomura Shigaraki's headless corpse behind.

Amahiko offered to handle classes since it was just announcing the Sports Festival  but Aizawa was adamant, threatening to call Keigo for transport if the god didn't "hurry up and let me see my students"

"So when are you gonna adopt Hitoshi?" Amahiko asked, not letting Aizawa out of his arms.

The Pro-hero didn't struggle, trying his best to be deadweight. The deal had been Amahiko would flash him from the hospital across town to U.A only if Aizawa agreed to be carried to class from the teachers lounge. He probably could have walked but his rush healing still left him fatigued.

"I want to tell Hizashi everything before we do paperwork." Aizawa said. "I can't in good conscious lie to him about how I found him."

"Is this gonna be a 'come with me, I need to show you something' conversation or a 'sit down, I need to tell you ' conversation."

"Both, probably." Aizawa admitted.

Amahiko hummed thoughtfully. "You know there is a Cat Cafe run by one of my kids about 3 blocks away from Neverland." He said. "I can get you a private evening. Plus cats. And you'll be close enough other Rats can come back you up before you bring him over."

Aizawa considered. "That would be great. Thank you."

"You're my friend, Shouta. It's no problem."

Thank you for being his friend.

Amahiko tilted his head. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing."
