Not all superheroes wear capes. That's the saying, isn't it? Well sorry to say that sometimes those sayings are true. This is a story about a hero who is rarely recognized. He isn't the one you will see rushing into battles or destroying cities. He will help everyone, not just people with major problems like some of the superheroes that are famous today. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. We need to start at the beginning of the story.

So many of our so-called superheroes end up destroying cities to solve that one problem. Well, this superhero fixes what they destroy. He never told me his name, so I named him Donor. His superpower isn't anything flashy but it is my favorite ever. Donor can regenerate parts of his body. It takes a long time but he can still do it. He uses this ability to help others by giving them what he needs. Most people would rather get a prosthetic limb than get one from another man so that's not normally what he donates. He tends to donate organs more because they are more needed.

You see when superheroes blow up the city, the ones who suffer from the blastwave often will get failing organs. When they are on the brink of death Donor will come to them. He will tell them what he told me. He will say, "If I help you out this time you must promise to help someone else when given the opportunity to. It doesn't have to be big. It can be something small like offering to carry in groceries for someone you don't know. I need you to promise me this because they're not enough good people in the world. Most problems in the world could be avoided by simply helping someone when they are down and not bringing them farther down. So that's why I need you to promise me this." Every day when I wake up I repeat those words to me. They remind me that there can always be more good people in the world. We hear stories every day about superheroes saving someone so we think there is nothing that we could do to help. The stories never tell us the truth; they never tell us that if someone hadn't been beaten when they were already down the problem could've been avoided.

The story of Donor stuck with me for all these years because he was the one who saved me. He refuses to ever be seen by any doctors and made me promise to not speak of him helping me. Many years ago I was in a building that collapsed due to a battle going on outside. Almost every doctor was called in to see me in our city. None of them could think of a way to save me because my heart was failing and they couldn't find a proper donor. One night, while the doctors were switching shifts Donor, came in to see me. He told me of those he has helped before and made me promise to do good deeds in the future, which I did. He then read the report my doctor made and he knew how terrible my condition was but he still helped. He gave me his heart but didn't tell me he wouldn't be able to regenerate from this. After he gave me his heart he left and later he was found dead. No one knew of his identity so one of my good deeds is to make sure his legacy lives as long as possible. When telling this story I like to make the same choice as him and keep my identity a secret. I figured he didn't want to take credit for saving people's lives and this story is about him so no one should ever take the credit.
