first meeting; the pool party.

a/n: this came from a dual writing between myself n nagi (honorary lucien) <3! enjoy the beginning of a long road.

Chenglei arrived pretty quickly. He fiddled with his shirt before dropping it on a table and climbing into the warm hot tub water. He went in slowly, prepping his body for the temperature change before sitting down in a spot and putting his head back. He sighed, this was nice and the jets weren't even on.

Chenglei moved his hand and played with the buttons until it started up. He was in such a rush to get here because of worry about being seen without a shirt on. He still wasn't at peak confidence, at least with the hot tub bubbles it would be a bit easier to hide while still enjoying himself!

After heading to one of the bathrooms once they arrived at the pool party area to change clothes into her bright yellow party outfit and cute hat, Kyungsae came straight to the hot tub area because, of course, this is where the hotties would be! 

There was only one hottie here so far- Chenglei, but she remained excited to speak with him anyway. She needed to branch out and get to know the contestants more anyway, so the idol skipped over to the tub, not getting in fully- instead she sat on the edge of it and dipped her feet in. 

Once she was settled, she looked over at Chenglei, "You look comfortable! Must be nice to be one of the first ones here, right? No need to be so nervous! I don't bite without consent~!" She teased him, flashing a friendly smile after.

Chenglei, who was focusing intensely on a specific bubble cluster floating around, finally turned his attention away from it to look at the newcomer. His eyes fell on her exposed midriff first. Not because he was a pervert, because he had a hard time hiding what he was thinking. 

Chenglei gave the host a sweet smile and turned his head as he slouched forward and moved his hand in the water. "I basically ran in," he laughed out loud, thankfully spending time with Yoojung seemed to make at least TALKING to girls a bit easier. "I'm only a little bit neh-neh-ner-... Nervous..." Chenglei stuttered, making an audible gulp at her playful nature. "Kyungsae," he mumbled her name and put his gaze back to the water as the tops of his ears turned their famous bright pink. 

Similar to before, his eyes caught a glimpse at Kyungsae's foot in the water and then slowly followed her legs back up to her face. "You look very cute," he complimented genuinely.

She did notice the male's gaze on her midriff, but she didn't mind it! It was a given! Her outfit wasn't that revealing yet, but she definitely had planned to catch some people's eyes with it over the course of the party. She is no weakling.

"You and me both! I just took a bit longer because I had to change and fix up my hair a bit." She gestured to her twin tail braids. It took a lot for her not to audibly aww at how cute Chenglei was, so she only resisted for about five seconds before going, "Aww! You really are so cute!" With a smile, they clasped their hands together, beaming at him like he was a new puppy her parents had just brought home. "No need to be nervous! We'll be good friends in no time, I promise. I'd shake hands with you but there's a bit of a distance between us." She didn't think he was ready for her to reveal the real outfit she wore for the party, so she stayed a safe distance... For now. 

"Thank you! Thank you!" Her smile remained on her face because of the compliment, "And you look very handsome! I know you just have the swim trunks look, but it's fitting for you~! This makes me wish we could have pool parties all the time..." She considered herself an abs enthusiast at times.

Chenglei stirred up some more bubbles. There was a dusting of a blush across his cheeks, his paleness making it easy to see. Curse you, fair skin!
