*James enters at his place*
"Man I can't believe they were fighting" he whispers
"I see being with your family wasn't too good" Toni laughs
"Yeah. Let me tell you about Dez and Cas. Cas brings up the fact he smashed Shay. You know Dez was going to go OFF. He blooded his nose and everything." He tells her
"So Umm Tamika is pregnant? And you didn't tell me?" Toni asks
"Ummm"
*He clears his throat*
"How you find out?" He asks
"Tamika called. Left you a voicemail telling you the appointment for the checkup is tomorrow morning and she wants you to be there. Which made me wonder why would she ask you to come with her and all this when you not the kid's father right? Wasn't til I looked through those messages that you were sleeping with her up til the time we made up." She answers
"Toni I—"
*Toni takes off her engagement ring and sets on the table*
"I told you if you f*cked up again I was gone. Now I am" She tears up
*she leaves and goes to Goldie's*
"Goldie you home?!" she yells
*Toni sets down her spare keys and sits on the couch*
*Devin comes around the corner*
"Hey Dev. Where's Goldie?" Toni asks
"She's with her girls but she told me you were coming. Want something to drink?"
"Nah I'm good." She declines
"So what's wrong with you?" He asks
"Boy don't even act like you want to know" she laughs
*he sits next to her*
"No really I do. Since Goldie isn't here and I'm bored so lay it on me" he insists
"Fine. James lied again and this time I don't know if I'm able to forgive him. He got another woman pregnant and I didn't know until she called his home phone. I love him but i don't love him enough to keep doing this." Toni explains
"Damn. I'm sorry T. What you think about doing?" He asks
"Well I got 3 options. Call off the engagement and leave Norfolk, go back to him and be the dumbest person ever or get even with him by sleeping with someone else. They all are bad choices but that's all I have." She explains
"Well gotta do what you have to do even if it's the wrong one"
"yeah..." she sighs
"I'm here for you. Just don't regret the decision once you make it" He advices her
*she gets up and hugs him. She proceeds to pull away*
"Thanks for listening" she says
*she heads to the guest room*
**Next morning**
*Toni wakes up to her phone ringing*
"Hello" she answers
"GURLLL WHERE IS yuuuuu" Valeri yells
"I'm at Goldie's." She answers
*she gets up and starts getting dressed*
"I'm going to go come get you" Valeri tells her
*Toni sighs*
**20 minutes later Valeri is honking**
*Toni comes out in shorts and crop top*
"Why you honking?" Toni asks
"Cause we need to talk like now" She replies
"What's up?" Toni gets on the car
*Val drives off*
"So when was you going to tell me your fine brothers was in town and that Devin was in town too?" Val asks
"I DIDNT know Clyde nor Monte was in town. If they in town then my mom is too." Toni sighs
"And Devin just here to be Goldie's play toy as usual. You don't want to be apart of that entanglement"
"True but I want to entangle in something with someone. You know me and Travis not on good terms and I need a break." Valeri says
"You still want to be with him?" Toni asks
"Yeah you know he annoying but he isn't a bad person. He just a dumba*s. Plus I want to give him a chance to be a father. Better than Charles." She says
"Well i hope for the best for you and him." Toni smiles
"So you know James told me you left..." Valeri says
"Yeah" Toni answers
"So what he do this time?" Valeri asks
*Valeri takes a sip of her drink*
"Tamika is pregnant...by him" Toni informs her
*Val spits out the drink*
"HE GOT HER PREGNANT!! Oh nah! I didn't want her as a sister in law. Is he sure he the dad anyway. You know she could be your sister in law since her and Kareem are so close" Valeri chuckles
"Nah Monte is into Shay more than Kareem is into Her." Toni tells her
"Shay who?" Valeri asks
*Toni turns away like she didn't hear the question*
"Don't tell me Shay is messing with him" Valeri protests
"No but...she was messing with Monte on the low. That's why he hasn't been back cause he told Dez" Toni says
"What did Dez do?" Valeri asks
"From what Monte told me, Dez looked like he was just numb." Toni answers
"Damn but this the woman he wants to marry" Valeri shakes her head
"Yeah but that was 4 years ago."
"4 years ago when? Like in before Caroline was born?" Val asks
*Toni nods*
"Oh wow...you don't think?" Valeri pauses
"Caroline was born in May the previous year. I remember Dez said she didn't look like anyone in hers or our family. That she looks like Monte but more like y'all dad. I just thought maybe she looked like someone in the past. I look like my great grandma's great grandma. Thing is Dez never got a DNA test just brushed it off."
"So it's possible your niece is actually mines?" Toni asks
"Maybe. But we won't know unless we test your brother and her." Val responds
"Off topic but where we going?" Toni asks
"To James' house" Val answers
"Why?" Toni asks
"Cauuussseeee."
"Valeri Marie what are you up to?" Toni asks
"Fine. I told James to meet us there and I promise after I'll owe you" Valeri confess
"Mhm ok"
*They arrive*
"Why is Tamika and Goldie at your brother's place?" Toni asks
"I don't know." Valeri answers
*Val parks right next to Tamika's car and they both go inside*
"What's going on?" Toni asks
"Tamika has a confession to make" Goldie answers
"Ok so I might not be pregnant with James' baby" Tamika confess
*James clears his throat*
"Ok I'm not pregnant at all. Damn" she adds on
"Ok." Toni says
"That's all you going to say? Is ok?" James asks
"Yep. I hope you didn't think getting her to confess changes anything. And on that note, Val you owe me ice cream"
*Toni leaves and Val follows behind*
"Wow. So it's over this time. Like over over" James sighs
"How about We go hang out?" Goldie suggests
"Yeah. Clear my head" James agrees
*they go to the ice cream parlor*
"So what you going to do now?" Goldie asks
*James shrugs*
"I f*cked up badly this time. Especially when we slept together" he ranted
"Why did we sleep together in the first place?" She asks
"I don't know" he shrugs
"Do you even know what happened before that" She asks
"Yeah I think I do" he replies
**Back when James and Toni first got engaged**
*James and Goldie drinking*
"You know I'm happy for you and Toni. I hope I find love like that" She reminisces
"Come on. You mean to tell me that you Gia Marie want love. Since I can remember you always wanted to be free and move with the waves. Why do you want to be tied down?" He rants
"Well, being free doesn't always mean happiness. Yes for a moment being with my flings I feel happy but it's not the same as having someone who's there all the time. Toni and you been through a lot of things. Not once have you or her backed down. That's the love I want and I hope I can get." She explains
"If anyone is capable of getting real love it's you. I know you'll get your dream to come true" James assures her
*She hugs him and for a moment they look into each other's eyes*
**Flashback ends**
"After that I don't know what happened but I know we woke up in my bed" He tells her
"Then we vowed never to tell anyone and at that time I was still trying to mend a friendship with Bianca so I told her then she told Tamika. Yeah..." she recalls
"To be honest. I regret it all" He laughs
"I'm like my father. He couldn't stick to one woman. Not my mom not Ash not even Sara." He rants
"Well at least you haven't been married at all" She giggles
"Yeah but I actually wanted to be married. Prove that I'm not like him but I messed it up like my dad did" James sighs
*Goldie holds his hand*
"It's going to be ok. You're going to be fine and you'll find your wife" Goldie reassures
"Thanks" He says
**At Toni's place**
"He really is predictable. He messes up then pulls out the stops just to get me back. Why can't it be all around either give me effort or don't" Toni rants
"Yeah I hear you but I wonder why Goldie was there. He only told me it was about Tamika and I had somewhat of an idea about her being there but Goldie no." She ponders
"It beats me." Toni shrugs
"Well she's always been team y'all so kind of not surprised" Val shrugs
"Yeah I guess"
"What you going to do now. You know she lied and wasn't that the reason why you broke it off?" Val asks
"It wasn't just that. He is a liar and I again let him lie to me. You know it wouldn't be so bad if he would just be honest. 'Hey T i don't want to be committed like this but i want to be with you.' I so could do an open relationship or polygamous one." Toni rants
"Girl bye" Val disagrees
"Well I could but it's better to know what is happening then blind sided by things like this" Toni states
"Yeah. I know when me and Travis were on good terms it was like that. But also we had someone dividing us at the same time" Val recalls
"WHO?" Toni asks
"Riley. She was his and my best friend. She was there through all our arguments and when we would break up. I quickly learned that little mistake of him and her sleeping with each other was actually not a mistake on her part." Val recalls
"You don't think Goldie is???"
"No. Why would she want to do that. Riley met you first before meeting Travis. Goldie met me and w together. Also Riley had always been a sl*t but Goldie is just free spirited and wouldn't betray me."
"Well I'm just saying it's a possibility especially since you know we use to see her do this to Bianca on the low. Especially with Terrell back when Terrell was a h*e"
"Ok good point but Bianca also was a h*e and slept with everyone's partner."
"Well Just don't be surprised when he rolls out with her." Val warns
"If that happens you better be there to get me" Toni responds
