Consciousness slowly starts to return to you and all you can see was almost pure darkness, but the occasional patches of mixed colors were the ones that prevented it to be complete. As you try to look beyond the unknown, you could feel the movements of your own eyes behind your eyelids, concluding that you have gained a sense of your once asleep state. You can't remember how and when you had rested, only knowing that you had been fighting off three demons at once during your mission with Shinobu. Remembering your companion, you've grown worried with her own condition. Wanting to know what had happened, you tried to open your eyes.
The action, despite the supposed eased manner it should have been done, had been proven to be a difficult task currently that only added to your confusion and curiosity as to what might have caused it. As your eyelids start to subtly be moved upwards, it would then move back down as if something pressured it from doing so. Exhaustion perhaps as it was clear that you're questionably tired for whatever reason that you couldn't even properly open your eyes, remaining to be almost closed, but you've managed to see. As you weakly let your gaze wander, you notice that you're lying on the bed, waking up just in time for Shinobu to make an entrance.
Shinobu seemed to have sensed that her beloved had been awakened when she unconsciously decided to pay you a visit, being left surprised upon seeing that her instinct had indeed been correct. This caused her to be overjoyed, finding herself within an illusion her mind unknowingly crafted for her to enjoy that the two of you had a special connection. You didn't manage to observe the place, though you also doubt that you would be able to do so. The tenseness of your body was reduced when you heard Shinobu's melodic voice that was laced with concern as she makes her hurried approach while carefully carrying a tray where a cup was placed on it.
She swiftly places the tray on a small bedside table near the bed you're lying on before gently placing her hand on your forehead to check your temperature. "My goodness, you're finally awake. How are you feeling, Y/N? I hope that the aftereffects of the drug are not that much."
Her hand then found its way to your cheek as you seek the comforting gesture for a while before you realized something. You're concerned after understanding what she said as your mind seemed to remain being affected by whatever she did. All you can manage to respond to her statement was a soft mumble of your confusion, leading to her gesturing you to be silent while hushing you gently. She sighs in relief after feeling that your body temperature does not indicate an illness, leaving her certain that your body will recover its strength not long after if she intends for it to do so when she deems you well-behaved enough to be trusted for you to acquire it.
