Y/N POV:
Elvis was still reluctant to have Colonel Tom out of his life. He said he owed Colonel his life. Well, your smart ass said 'he was gonna murder you'. Elvis wasn't thrilled and he was very apprehensive, but here you were on your way to Colonel's office, still stationed at the International Hotel, about to go fire him on behalf of Elvis. Sonny was in tow, per Elvis' request. You smiled at Elvis' thoughtfulness. That was one thing even in his darkest times, he would do anything for others, and even when a lot of people wouldn't do the same and leave, he would still be the kindest person to them. Th Colonel though....he didn't deserve Elvis' kindness.Sonny walked by your side his beard and hair had grown and he wore aviators which made him look like a mobster. You wore one of your most business professional outfits, slacks, black high heels, a white blouse, a black blazer. You tied your brunette hair back in a bun and had your own aviators on. Your face said it all. You were here to take care of business. Once you go up to almost the top floor you step out of the elevator and quickly find his office. You look at Sonny and he nods. You pound the door loudly. You hear some fumbling coming from inside and then his creepy accent called out. "One moment!" You heard him hobble over with his cane making a loud thud with each step until you knew he was at the door. He opened it and his face immediately turned to annoyance. "What do you want girl?" He asked and turned away, slowly making his way back to his desk. You and Sonny step inside, uninvited and close the door. You cross your arms and take a slight Elvis stance. You've seen him do it plenty of times when he was pissed, a lot during rehearsals. "Tom, we're talking to you." Sonny pipes up, lowering his voice to intimidate him. Colonel turned and sat his large ass back in his chair. He took a deep breath, coughed a few times and then leaned forward. "I know why you're here, y/n. You want me gone, don't you?" He asked and smiled slyly. Your skin crawled at the look he gave you. "Actually Elvis does. We're here to fire you om his behalf. You're through." You said and put your hands on your hips, as if preparing to fight him. "I knew this day would come. My boy is being influenced by you heathens." He said and you couldn't help but snort at his comment. "Yes, you know...he's definitely being influenced by usually because we're saving his fucking life! Unlike you! Tom Parker you were going to KILL him!" You were clearly getting angry, your blood pressure rising. Sonny placed a hand on your shoulder and you sank slightly, relaxing yourself. "Here's the documents, just sign here. You get to keep all the dimes you stolez but nothing else will come your way." Sonny said dug in his bag and tossed the documents on the table. Colonel put on a pair of glasses and examined every line. He took on a breath and reached for a pen, but not before looking up to meet your eyes. "Tell my boy he will regret this until the day he dies." He said and signed the paper, pushing it back to Sonny. You gritted your teeth, attempting to hold your tongue. Sonny gave a nod and you decided flicking him off would be the last exchange. You watch the look lm his face. He rolls his eyes at your gesture and you leave the room. You felt like collapsing as soon as you walked far enough away from his room for you to actually take deep breaths. Tears came from your eyes, finally releasing all the pent up emotion as well as the overwhelming relief you felt, your aviators fogged up and you tossed them to the ground. Before you could collapse from the overwhelming feelings, Sonny caught you by your arm and held you up rubbing your back. "You just saved Elvis Presley." He said and that gave you the strength to stand slightly, making your way back downstairs and to go visit Elvis in San Diego.
Elvis POV:
We just had finished our morning meeting. Every Wednesday was spent in a circle with others who went through similar drug addictions to what I had apparently experienced. The whole experience so far being here has been eye opening and slightly shocking. I felt guilt for putting so many friends and family through the shit I did. I felt like at one point I lost mysel, until now. I could see the old me. The young boy who stood on stage at the Louisiana Hayride, sounding like a hick nonetheless, and expressing his love music. I was finallybstarting to feel like myself again. I stood outside the complex in the courtyardz sipping my blsck coffee, looking out onto our communal garden filled with flowers and fresh vegetables. It made my heart look back on what me and you would see our future as.Flashback:
I wrapped my arms around you as we stood down at Mudd Island. It was pitch black except for the light from the stars. I was falling in love with you. I could finally see a life with us together. I wanted you with me throughout this journey that was just starting. Every time you were with me at home and on the performance dates were the best. Kt was the time apart that made me realize I needed you. I needed you with me. "Where do you see us five years from now baby girl?" I asked lightly kissing your head and neck. I could feel the Goosebumps on your arms and hard you closer. "I see us living a big piece of land. Tons of wildflowers growing everywhere. Oh and a garden. I wanna grow all my own food. Mmm..." You said excitedly and then trailed off with a slight moan as I nibbled your neck. "That's beautiful baby girl. And a lot of kids?" I asked and turned you around to face me. "Yes and horses and goats! And chickens!" You smile and it lights up the night. "You can have it all y/n. I love you so much." Your eyes widened. "You've never said that back to me!" You said blushing. "But I love you too. I love you Elvis Presley." You smile. "I love you, y/n l/n." And I kiss you tenderly under the stars.
End Flashback:
I looked out past the wall that separated our little world inside the center to the outside world. I could see my dark black Cadillac pull up and you and Sonny stepping out. I sat down my cup and made my way quickly to the entrance. As soon as you walked through you threw your arms around me. "Baby girl hey there. Is everything okay?" I ran my hands through your hair and pulled your head back so I could see your face. You were smiling, giggling slightly. "We did it Presley. You're free from the Colonel. He signed the papers!" I smiled probably the biggest I had in a very long time and kissed you passionately, not caring of anyone else around. At last, I was free to do as I wanted.
