March 5, 1960
Y/N POV:
You had opted to go to the airport with Vernon to greet Elvis as his plane flew in. You were a nervous wreck the entire time he had been gone and on top of all of that he had lost his mother recently as well. It was the worst to see him that torn up. He never sounded the same when you would speak on the phone once he went back, which made you worry even more and of course the mention of some child he had met while in Germany raised some questions, but you knew well enough that Elvis was devoted to you, just as you had been since you met him back in 54' at the Louisiana Hayride.
Flashback:
You wore your dark brown hair down that day but made sure to tease it up high. Picking out your best outfit, you opted for your favorite green cotton dress that had a bow in the back. It always made your green eyes pop. You had gone with your best gal pal, Betsy and were eagerly awaiting the performance of Hank Snow...mainly because Betsy was a huge fan. You were beginning to bore as you stood waiting by the stage. "I'm gonna go grab a pop." You say to Betsy and make your way to the concessions.
Elvis POV:
I was as nervous as could be and had to get my mind off of things. My throat was already starting to dry out, so I hastily made my way to the concession stand and right as I did she caught my eye. The brunette girl looked tan and the green dress fit her frame perfectly. I was captured and had to talk to her. I licked my hand and smoothed back my hair putting on my best smile, I walked up and tapped her on the shoulder. She turned and her green eyes reeled me in. I was hooked.End Flashback (back to Y/N POV):
Yeah, he was definitely not gonna stray far from you. You smile fondly of your memory. Vernon interrupted your thoughts and tapped your shoulder. "I think that's his plane. They just landed." His gravely voice informed ad he pointed at a clearly marked military plane. You smile and your heart starts racing. You both quickly make your way outside and await his exit at the bottom of the plane stairs with the rest of the families eagerly awaiting their brave men. You don't have to wait long before you see his dark hair and chisled face emerge from the plane. He smiles. His lips curling up making your knees weak. You wave your hands in the air. "ELVIS!" You call and he meets your eyes, smiling. He quickly makes his way down the stairs and before you knew it he was in your arms again. "Oh baby girl, I've missed you so much!" He says and kisses you passionately before you pull away, remembering the presence of his father. "Pop!" He exclaims and gives him a big hug. He turns to you his piercing blue eyes meeting yours. Your soldier was home...and from what you knew, he had a lot lined up for him so you waste no time making your way back to your home at Graceland.
You had no job after graduating high school, but you had just met Elvis and ever since then you really had no need to find a job. You spent all your time being with him and supporting him and you knew he appreciated it. He needed someone constant. So many others hadn't lasted threw his early years, but you? You stood by him. You were both happy to be home, especially Elvis and it showed but something seemed off. As you all entered the grand home he quickly dismissed himself to your shared room. Not wanting to be farther away from him than you already had been for so long you follow him and enter the room that naturally became yours as well over the years, through the black leather padded doors. You can hear him rummaging through his things in the bathroom and go in to see him toss a small pill in his mouth. "Darling, what's that?" You ask, curious. "I didn't know you had a headache.." You assume. "It's nothing baby. Just some stuff to help me stay awake. Don't worry about it." He said dismissively. You raise and eyebrow and he gives you a smirk that practically melts your heart. "Oh don't give me that look." You say and blush slightly. "What look? This?" He teases and deliberately raises his full lips. "God, I missed you!" You say and you both quickly meet halfway, his full, pink lips smashing down on yours. He was an amazing kisser and an even more passionate lover. It had been two years but he was back and everything was perfect. But, have you ever had a period in your life that you'll never forget for good or for bad? Well this is was it for you....
