I looked straight before talking a deep breath. I swung my arm around twice before letting it go. The batter swung, but missed giving them the third strike out. We won! The score was 37 to 35 and we won by only two points! I wiped the sweat off my forehead and cheered along with the rest of my team.

"Bethany!" My step dad yelled from the stands. He gave me a thumbs up with a wide smile. I gave him a smile back before running over to get a water, chugging it until the bottle is empty.

On the way home I stared out the widow as my step dad drove. I was adopted just a few days after I was born. Alex, my step dad, didn't know anything about my real parents, but I couldn't honestly care less. Just because I am part of them, doesn't mean they are family. My family was my step dad and that is it.

When the car stopped I opened the door and running over to the house. I unlocked the door before going inside and running into my room. The happiness I felt from the game faded away when I looked around my room, seeing all of my things packed away. I was moving to a small town called Mystic Falls in Wyoming. Alex told me that it was a chance for new beginnings, but the main reason that we are moving is because Samantha, my step mother, died just a few weeks ago and he does not want to live in the same place as his deceased wife. I can't blame him for it though.

I took a shower shortly after packing up a few other things, like my softball gear. After double shampooing, shaving, and putting conditioner in, I got out of the shower wrapping my towel around me. The fog in the mirror prevented me from getting a clear look at myself, so I wiped it, revealing my face. My brown hair reached a little pas my beast and my brown eyes looked even bigger than they usually do.

It was only eight o'clock when I finished doing my nightly route, but I had to be ready by 5 in the morning to head in Mystic Falls, so I decided to hit the hay early.

The next day after I ate, got dresses, ate, and brushed my teeth, I grabbed my car keys and waited for Alex to finish his breakfast. "You all ready to go?" Alex's voice said from behind me.

"No," I whispered to myself, though I knew he wasn't really looking for an answer.

The drive was a horrible seven hours, only taking two stops for food or bathroom breaks. The drive was too long and too dreadful, but we finally pulled up to a house.

The house was two stories tall from what you could see from the outside. It was white with a very dark brown roof. The front yard was a beautiful shade of green and a few neatly trimmed bushes in front of the porch. Two trees sat on each side of the walk way. Also, if you looked closely enough, you could slightly see the side of the backyard, which was a decently large size.

I took in a deep breath before walking up to the door, and pulling out the key Alex gave me the other day. Inside the door revealed a mostly furnace living room. Alex told me that along with a fairly descent price of the house came with furniture for most of the rooms. He sold almost all of the furniture from our old house, because we had all of this here.

I glanced down at my watch seeing that the time was only 1:00 P.M. so I had plenty of time to unpack my personal stuff and kitchen utensils. "Alex, Why don't you go get some rest," I said turning around to see him carrying a few boxes stacked up on top of one another. "I'll start unpacking for a few hours and we can get the rest tomorrow."

"I'm fine. We can both work on it today and I'll just work on it tomorrow. Your starting school, remember?" Alex assured. I mentally glared at him. Why couldn't I just have one day off?

I sighed once again today before nodding me head and going out to his truck to get some of the boxes out.

I pulled into a parking space looking up at the school. Taking a deep breath I looked down at my outfit. I was wearing a pair of skinny blue jeans with tears at the knees from being a little to rough while wearing them. I have a plain black tank top on, some black high top converse, and my leather jacket. My hair was curled like usual.

I got out of my car, tossing my book bag over my shoulder. While I was walking away, I locked the door with the button on my key chain. "Hey Elena!" a girl with black hair and really bright blue eyes said waving to me. I arched my eyebrows together, but shook it off and walked inside. Following the signs to the office and got my papers.
