Just Let Me Forget You (Milo X Reader)

Chapter Six: Secret Garden Party

The two of you appear at the secret garden party that is being held at the garden area in front of the castle. You notice that no one else besides the film crew is in the park.

"So it's not really a secret but more like a private garden party?" you ask.

"Yes but I figured it would be a nice surprise."

"Oh I'm not complaining. It's just unexpected. Do I actually have to be in the video?"

"You don't have to but-"

"It would help you out."

"Yeah."

"Okay Milo and his friend," says the cameraman. "Milo you just have to say, 'I'm spending the night at Cinderella's castle at Magic Kingdom. Disney even gets to hold a surprise party for the celebration of spring is starting.'"

It took about an hour of them filming the two of you eating and dancing. You weren't too fond of the idea but it made Milo happy and you loved doing that. The camera crew left the two of you alone to finish your dinner.

"Did you at least have a little fun?" he asks.

"Yeah I really did, thanks for inviting me."

"There was another thing I wanted to invite you to, so my birthday is coming up soon, and I was wondering if you would want to do something for it."

"Would it just be us or?"

"Well obviously Meg, Peyton, Opal, Hartley, Roland, and majority of the cast of Zombies would be there too."

"What would we be doing?"

"I wanted to go to Van Gogh's Immersive exhibit they have. It's really beautiful but, Meg says she'll plan everything for me."

"So is it on your actual birthday?"

"No, it's the day before."

"I guess I could go, it'll still be early into March and I'll be able to study when I get home."

"Great! Now let's head back to the Castle since it's one of the only things lit up."

Once you two get inside, you lay down on the bed.

"You should change into normal clothes, we're going to explore the park," says Milo.

"That sounds like a lot of fun. Out of all of the parks, which one is your favorite?"

"In a few years I think it'll be Epcot, but right now it's Magic Kingdom. Tomorrow we're going to Epcot because of their spring food festival."

"We also have to go on the Cosmic Rewind and the Frozen ride," you add.

"Someone did some research."

"When do I not?"

"That's true, that's one of the things I always liked about you." He sits on the bed. You both stay silent and just look in each other's eyes. You both can't help but smile at each other, but his smile fades after a second. "You know, it could just be that it's getting later but I want to be honest with you about something." Your heart immediately starts racing and it feels as if it's about to burst out of your chest, what he just said has left your thoughts running.

"What are you not being honest with me about?"

"Well, remember how earlier today I skipped 'Night We Met' by Lord Huron?"

"Yeah."

"I skipped it because it was like our song. The night after we broke up, I listened to that song on repeat and cried myself to sleep."

"Milo-"

"I know what you're going to say, you're going to say I should man up and hide how I feel."

"That's not what I'm going to say at all. You are allowed to show your feelings. Milo, I hate that I caused you so much pain. I just wanted to help you but now looking back it, I was scared and stupid."

"How were you scared?"

"I'm preparing for med school, my whole future is coming fast, way faster than I can help it. Our future was in jeopardy because of me."

"How?"

"If I pass the MCAT, I'm moving out of L.A. I would be moving to New York."

"Y/n why didn't you tell me? I will support you no matter what. I was already thinking of moving wherever you go anyways."

"See! That's exactly why I broke up with you. I don't want you to have to go wherever I go. I love you Milo, but I won't sabotage your future."

"Wait you love me?"

"Obviously, but that's not the point-"

"Are you in love with me?"

"Milo, I'm not done getting my point across."

"You're avoiding my question."

"Because I'm still arguing with you."

"Y/n," he pauses for a second and then scoots closer to you. "Y/n, can I kiss you?"

"No, remember, we're going to just be friends from now on."

"But you said-"

"You can love your friends." You both knew you were lying about just being friends but you didn't want to make the same mistake you did before. "Can we please just get going?"

"Yeah. I'm already dressed so you should change."

You grab your favorite pair of shorts and a t-shirt. You head into the bathroom, closing the door behind you. You start to unzip your Cinderella dress but struggle unzipping it. You're about to call out to Milo when you recognize a familiar ring sitting by the sink.

You were both sixteen when Milo expressed his fear of the future. He was sad that the two of you wouldn't be as close because you had had a crush on a boy. So, you dragged him to the closest jewelry store and bought matching rings. You slid yours on your left ring finger and then slid his on his left ring finger. You said this was your promise to him that if the two of you don't end up with anyone by thirty five, you would marry each other. The two of you shook on it and then you said you loved him and he replied that he loved you more.

You shake your memory from your mind and call out to Milo. He opens the door to the bathroom. He helps unzip your dress and you can't help but ask.

"Why do you still have that ring?" You make eye contact with him through the mirror. His eyes trail down to the zipper. He starts to unzip it slowly.

"Because it's a memory I want to keep," he replies softly. "It's one of my favorite ones." He finishes unzipping your dress. You turn around to face him. You put your hand on his face. He stay silent and just stares at your lips. You stare at his until, you finally have the courage to kiss him.
