"Amara let me look at you." Vi grabbed for Amara's face but she shoved her back and snarled "Don't touch me!" Vi stood shocked and confused "PLease, we need to find somewhere to recover." Caitlin said from her spot on the ground. they found a back alley to stop in. "You're bleeding, let me at least make sure you don't need stitches." Vi tried again, Amara wrenched herself back "Back off." she growled.Vi furrowed her eyebrows "What's your problem!" she yelled, her anger getting the better of her. "My problem? My problem??" Amara asked pointing to herself "You fucking left me....again!" Vi rolled her eyes "I was going back for Powder." Amara shook her head "She's my sister too!" she yelled tears now starting to fall. "I should have gone with you then none of this would have happened...if you would have taken me with you none of this would have happened!" she sobbed desperately. She wasn't just talking about the incident on the bridge...
"I was protecting you!" Vi yelled back "You locked me in a basement!!" Amara shoved her hard "I screamed for hours, I slammed against that door until I had bruises covering my body." Amara hissed "You left me..." Vi got in her face and scowled "I never meant to leave!! I was taken by fucking Marcus! But I'm glad I left you there. You've been behind me since I found you in the fucking dumpster, I may have never thought about it back then but I did love you...and I would have killed myself years ago if I knew you were dead too...."
Vi's anger faltered as she thought about the long days and nights in the cell where she thought about just giving up. The times when they would come to toy with her and she let them get in a few more punches than they should have just to feel the pain. She didn't love Amara back then like she wanted her to, but she did love the girl. "You and Powder were the only reasons I had to keep fighting. So I'm sorry, okay? But I'm glad I locked you in that basement." Amara just glared.
"I think I might know a place to lay low." Cait spoke up, she looked between the two awkwardly and they stepped apart silently, helping Cait and ignoring one another.

Cait lead them to the upper city, a mansion surrounded by gates and rose bushes. "We are dead if we get caught here." Amara grunted climbing over a back wall. Vi opened a window on the first floor and Amara lifted Cait to Vi's waiting arms before claiming in herself. The room was massive, a bedroom with a four-post bed with curtains, a lounge chair, and a table, and bookcases. "Who lives here? Another Councilor friend of yours?" Vi asked, the door suddenly burst open and an older woman cocked a rifle "Shit." Amara slipped.
"Caitlyn!" The woman lowered the rifle and a man ran around the corner after her "Oh. We were so worried. Thank goodness you're safe!" the man hugged Caitlin tightly. "And you found a stray." her mother looked the other two over with slight disgust. Amara swallowed thickly and crossed her arms over her chest, this was the upper city....the world her mother was born into and she was dressed like a gutter rat.
"This is Vi, and Amara. They're from the undercity." Amara stepped forward and held out her hand "Amerith Laroche." Caitlin's mother stopped and put the gun down "Laroche? As in Edwin and Glenna Laroche?" she questioned, Amara bit her lip "I-I don't know...Ma'am. My mother was Elowyn Laroche, she always said to use her name if I were to ever find myself topside..."
Caitlin's mother tilted her head and subconsciously covered her mouth with her hand "Oh my...you look just like her." she stepped forward and grabbed her husband's arm "Darling, doesn't she look just like Elowyn." the man nodded "I always wondered what happened to her, such a sweet girl." Amara furrowed her brows "You knew my mother?"
