After a long day of playing in the garden and pretending to be a hero, Izuku got called inside to eat dinner his mother had made.
"Izuku, dinner is ready! Please wash up and come inside," Izukus's mother said, her voice as kind as ever.
"I'm coming!" A childish voice shout back from the cobblestone place that lead to the garden. The garden was Izukus favorite place to play. It supplied him with hiding spots and yummy snacks. Not to mention, the forest it was by displayed him many choices for a stick sword. His current favorite game was called 'Knights'. It was a pretty simple game, Izuku had the one-for-all enchanted sword, and he saved the whole world using it. This was typically done with a set of challenges he made up.
Although it is fun, he did feel lonely. See, he and his mother lived away from the village, so he never got to meet anyone to befriend him. Even when they did go down to the village for groceries, Izuku was always told to stay right by his mother's hip, so as to not get lost in the bust crowd. So, from afar he'd watch kids his age play in the open field. Regardless, he still had fun with his mom once they got home. With the soil washed off, Izuku stepped into his cabin, the smell of meat and herbs tackling his nostrils.
"Did you play knight again?" His mom, Inko, questioned cheerfully.
"Yeah, I did," the playful kid responded, taking a seat on the cranky wood chairs. "It's getting kind of boring though. It'd be much more fun with a friend." He concluded.
"I'm sorry 'zuku, but you know how I feel about the other kids," Inko replied, her small smile turning into a frown as she placed a plate full of meat and greens. "They could get you hurt and they can be mean."
With a pout, Izuku muttered out, "One day I'll travel the world and have a lot of friends. And then I'll find the sword of one for all and demolish all evil!" He concluded, not pouting anymore, with a determined tone of voice.
"I'm sure you will," Inko said, sitting down with her portion of food, "Now, It's time for dinner! I hope it's yummy, I tried out a new recipe," She said happily.
"Right, thank you for the food, mom!" Izuku excitedly responded, grabbing a fork and a dull knife. After dinner, Izuku helped clean up, then took a quick bath, before settling down in his beat-up pajamas. On days like these, Inko and Izuku sat on their rocky porch, enjoying the warm breeze and peaceful atmosphere. The sky was still colorful, with swirls of warm orange and red contrasting against the cool purples and blues of the night. By then, the crickets were chirping and the sound of a festival could be heard starting beyond the tree line and in the village. The alleviate setting was enough to make Izuku's high energy get less and less energetic, and once the sun dipped below the horizon, and the breeze started to get chilly, was when the two started to head back inside.
"Mommy," a tiny voice spoke up, "Can you tell me the story again?" Little Izuku asked while his mom, Inko, tucked him into his bed.
She smiled fondly at her son before replying, "You've heard this story about 10,000 times yourself Izuku, aren't you getting tired of it?" She asked though she already knew the answer.
"I will never get over how cool it is!" A cheerful voice replied."Alright then," Inko sighed before continuing, "Long ago in the Kingdom of Quirks, two boys were born, All For One and Yoichi. Both of them possessed two different personalities. All For One was pure evil while Yoichi was someone who stood for peace and justice. Despite all that, All For One offered a deal to his younger brother." Inko paused, looking down at Izuku who was slowly started to nod his head off." The offer was said to have Yoichi gain the power One for All. Unknowingly to the brothers, Yoichi could pass down this power to other people, which he did so by a sword enchanted with One for All. Unfortunately, the sword was said to have been lost over 300 years ago." With that Inko looked at her son, who was slightly snoring, before standing up and planting a motherly kiss on his forehead.
"Good night Izuku." She whispered adoringly before standing up and blowing out a candle by his bedside.Inko was nervous telling her son about this story over and over again. She knew that Izuku would one day want to get out and explore the outside world. And Inko knew that with this, he could get hurt or even killed. This world they lived in was huge and filled of all sorts of mysterious creatures, yet to be studied. Some creatures were as big as mountains or as small as pebbles, all their powers ranging from catastrophic to nothing at all. But, what worries Inko the most has to be the hidden evils locked up in the world. Sure, all for one was said to have been defeated, but his presence still lurks. She fears that soon he would be reincarnated or that he would arise from the dead. But, for now, she's trying to swallow that fear, and hope that he doesn't come back ever.
My goal is to make this a major slow burn. In fact I'm planning on making it so we don't meet Katsuki until a bit later. (Knowing me he's probably going to be introduced in like 5 chapters..) anyways! I'm excited for this.
