Oh brother. I'm reading this before I rewrite this chapter and man.. this is bad.. really horribly bad. Wish me luck!! Also this is completely raw writing. I don't have a beta reader so you guys are basically gonna suffer in confusion!! Yay!!

Years passed, and Izukus determination to become a hero grew with him. By now, he was 12, and for the last 6 years, he's been taking his 'game' of Knight to a new level. While helping out in the garden and tending to the animals they had gotten 2 years ago, Izuku had started to build a physic. With that, he had also been working on his swordsmanship. He started doing this mostly because he wanted to become a hero, but also he hadn't manifested quirk to call his own.
Although, that didn't get him down too much since he knew that All Might, the last holder of One for All, was quirkless too.

Continuing his training, Izuku stood in an opening inside of the forest. The sun, which was shining above him, made sun rays that burst through the leaves. In front of him was a log which was placed upright, and had scratches bored into its bark from something sharp striking it. Taking his stance once again, Izuku plunged at the log, going for its upper right. With a thunk and a crack, the corner where he had aimed for chipped away, revealing the log's rings. Sweat which had been building up down the heat, fell as he sighed.

"This isn't easy without an actual sword," Izuku muttered out to himself, "But, this new strategy is seeming to work. I gotta write it down."
With that, the green-haired boy placed his makeshift sword beside him on a nearby tree. Near the tree was his bag, which his journal laid neatly with a pencil to the side of it.

With Izuku growing, and with more knowledge gaining, he's been getting more and more fixated on the last user of One For All, Yagi Toshinari. Toshinari, also known as All Might, was last to yield One For All. His origin has been passed around through epics and campfire stories but Izuku knew the truth behind it all.

See, Toshinari was quirkless, just like how Izuku was, and he didn't seem to have a great future. He has been raised on the streets and was always looked down upon as a low life. That was until his kingdom had been attacked when he was nearing adulthood, causing fire and chaos to ensue. Even though the people had treated him so horribly, he knew that evil shouldn't be in charge of people's hearts, so with that, he ran toward the crowd of attackers. People berated him, but nonetheless, he went on, saving families and gets pets out of burning buildings. He was about to get hit by a quirk attack when all of a sudden a strong lady came in and grabbed him out of his way. Little did he know that the hero would soon be his mentor.

After all the invaders had been taken care of, the lady who had saved him, passed a sword to him. That sword, as he found out, was One for all. From then Toshinari learned its backstory and the power it had behind it. From then, his mentor, Nana, taught him how to use it, and why he has to use it. And before long, her story was up, with her soul residing inside the blade, waiting to achieve peace.

After the death of his mentor, Toshinari decided from then that he too would be a hero, using the blade to save those who cannot save themselves. Having traveled the Geo, All Might came across the evil spirit, All For One, who had been infecting the minds of the people, and declared he be stopped at once. So, with a courageous battle, All For One was defeated, but not before passing his power down to a soul yet to be born. With that, All Might lived the rest of his life, and before he breathed the world goodbye, he hid the sword, to be found by the next worthy successor. Legend has it that the sword will show itself in a time of need to the last one who can weld it.

Izuku admired All Might for that story. Seeing how someone so similar to Izuku had been able to spread peace to the world and give hope to those who had lost it, was something that motivated him to never give up. He vowed to become a protector and to wear a smile on his face no matter what.

By the time Izuku had finished writing in his journal and training new ideas, the sky had started to mix into a chromic of colors, starting with a deep reddish-orange, to a haunting indigo. This was his timer to head back home and help his mom with cooking dinner and preparing the cabin for the next day. So, with that, he started his ascent back to the abode.

"How was training?" Inko questioned once she heard the front door tick open.
"It was good," The boy replied, taking off his beat-up gloves and washing off dirt from his hands. "I found some techniques that work really well. They're not perfect but it's coming along." He concluded with a small smile, walking over to help cut some baby carrots.
"Mm, you know," Inko paused, as if to think about her next words, "you remind me a lot of your father."

Izuku slightly hitched his actions, feeling suddenly attentive. His mother didn't talk about his father often and once she did, she didn't have a lot to say.

"How come?" He asked, genuinely curious.
Inko took a second to respond.

"Well, your dad was really brave. He loved the adventure and for that, he was always willing to explore." Inko placed a bittersweet smile on her face before continuing.

"When I first met him, he was stuck in a boulders crack. He looked so relieved to had seen me because immediately he started yelling for help. Likewise, I helped him, and he was fast to declare us friends. Years passed and before long we were both walking down a roll of white carpet, ready to exchange vows of marriage." Inko talked as if she were describing a livid dream, seeming almost airy. "Once we got married he wanted to get out and explore the world with me. He said something along the lines of 'Come on 'ko, you can't keep staying in one place forever!', which tempted me but I was too scared." By then, the ingredients they had been making had been boiling in a pot, and she had sat down, Izuku on the opposite side.

"You know me, I'm too afraid of the outside world. Ever since I was a gal, I heard the stories of monsters and evil, and I knew that I didn't want to risk it all for exploring. Unaware to me and your dad, after I had you, a word of evil having been awaken called, and your dad was recruited." Inko got quiet, trailing off from the story, but Izuku could fill in the blank of what she was going to say. "I know it's not often I open up and tell you about your father, but seeing you grow up into a mini him is scaring me."

A lump in her throat had started to build up, and Izuku could see tears well up in her eyes. Either way, she continued talking. "I see you look out into the fields with longing, I've seen that same look many times before. My biggest regret was not going with your father to explore the world. I thought we had more time." Her voice cracked, and by now tears were bubbling down her face.

"I know that one day you are going to want to go and explore, and as selfish as I want to be and keep you here, I've made the internal decision to allow you to." She concluded her words, standing up, and rubbing her face. Walking over to the pot to check on the food, Izuku trailed behind her.

"Mom," Izuku started speaking, not sure what to say, but knowing he wanted to say something. "I promise you, when that time comes, I will be strong enough to defend myself. I'll make sure to write to you, and I'll be sure to visit." Izuku paused, unsure if that would be good to add, but quickly he shook any overthinking thoughts away.

"Thank you, for telling me about Dad. I know you had a hard time talking about it so I really appreciate it." He finished, voice cracking without him being aware of it, and in Midoriya fashion, he started to cry too. Immediately a warm embrace took near him, and he just as quickly wrapped his arms around his mom.

Their night continued, with a newfound feeling of family, and almost with them almost forgetting their dinner, causing them to eat half-burnt carrot stew. But what's new in the Midoriya household? Once the candle fire went out, Izuku made a promise to not only himself but to also his parents that he would become the worlds greatest hero, so that no one had to worry about a single thing again.

This concludes chapter 2!! Little do you guys know, I write on my phone so it takes forever to write. There's going to be a bunch of jump skips until I get to the main story, So I apologize for that. Anyways get excited because next chapter we're meeting an experienced mage. Yay!!
