~Lances Pov~

Beep...Beep...Beep...I heard the annoying ring of a monitor as I slowly opened my eyes.

The first thing I saw was Sam lying on my shoulder fast asleep.

But then I realized where I was.."No...No...no" I looked around hearing the monster sounds start to quicken.

"Lance!?" I heard Sam slowly wake up as she looked at me in relief and concern.

"Why the fuck am I in a hospital!" I raised my voice sitting up when a sharp pain hit my side.

I winced grabbing my side as Sam tried to calm me down.

Eli walked up from the side of the room "I'm sorry it was the only option" He sighed looking down at me with tired eyes.

"What day is it?" I asked looking around for my phone.

"Thursday," Sam said in a sweet low voice that I missed hearing.

"Thursday" I repeated under my breath.

I realized I had been unconscious for four days, I sighed rubbing my hands through my hair.

"Lance... " Eli spoke up looking down at me.

"You had a broken rib that had punctured your lung" He sighed explaining everything to me.

I nodded " Uh Lance?" Eli looked down at me"

"The baby was born, "Eli said with a smile.

I chuckled with a nod "congratulations man"

~One Month Later~

I laid down with a grunt as I sat on the end of my bed tapping my pen to a blank sheet of paper.

It had been exactly 136 Days since I started writing a note to Sam daily.

I had already poured my heart out it was difficult to know what else to say.

I sighed setting the book back in a drawer deciding I would pick it up later in the day.

I walked downstairs watching Sam grab her bag and her keys."Hey " She smiled.

"I'm going to meet a friend, is that ok?" I nodded"Of course" I leaned down to kiss her as I walked to the gym.

I sighed leaning down to pick up weights as I heard a knock on the door.

I looked up as Eli walked in. I nodded at his presence and he nodded back.

"Do you know who Tyler is?" Eli asked as I walked to the bench with my weights.

I looked at him "the guy on our old football team?" Eli nodded

"Ok, what about him" I raised my eyebrow looking directly at him as I slowly started lifting the weights.

"Uh never mind it doesn't matter" Eli turned around walking out the door.
