Ginny's POV
Everything was going so well. How, all of a sudden, could it have gone wrong?
It was one of those gorgeous spring days. The sun was shining down on the grass, illuminating the left over water residue from last nights rain. The trees were in full bloom. A full array of colours surrounded the grounds, even the Forbidden Forrest looked truly wonderful!
Harry and I were walking along the shore of the lake, hand in hand, , my head resting on his shoulder. The lake's surface rippled calmly as the light breeze splashed it's surface.
The school grounds were utterly deserted, everyone else was inside cleaning up. However, for some reason, Mcgonagall allowed me and Harry the day off which we had spent lounging around the school grounds.
Neither of us said much. What was there to say? What could you say to a guy who had spent the last few months collecting pieces of Lord Voldemort's soul? Hey, Harry. So, what was it like dying? Yeah, I doubt that would do much good. Besides, after all we'd been through, I think just being in each other's company was enough.
After about ten more minutes of silent strolling, we finally sat down in the shade of a large willow(not the wimping willow, you'd have to be mental to sit there!). Harry leant back against the trunk of the tree as I allowed myself to lean back on him.
We dug into the picnic we had brought with us. Pumpkin Pasties, Butterbear, Bertie Botts Beans and, of course, chocolate frogs.
I couldn't help but notice how nervous Harry seemed. His brilliant green eyes seemed to be constantly avoiding my gaze. To be honest, I didn't think much of it. After someone's been through something like Harry had, you were bound to be a bit on edge. Still, that didn't explain why he wasn't looking at me.
"You alright, Potter?" I asked him mockingly.
He grinned at me.
"Better than ever,Weasley!" He replied. "Chocolate Frog?"
I nodded and he tossed me one. I could feel the frog moving around in there. If you were to catch those frogs, you needed to be quick!
I opened the packet and the frog immediately jumped straight out. Must've been a super quick one.
Harry dragged me up by the hand and we chased the living treat through the grass. Yeah, it'd probably not even been the best idea to eat it but this wasn't about deliciousness, it was about pride! Plus Harry seemed to have returned to his usual self!

We'd been running after it, still holding hands and dragging each other along, for almost two minutes when Harry took his chance and pounced onto the unsuspecting frog, clasping it in his hand.
I laughed and clapped as he staggered up with the chocolate still in his hand. I walked straight up to him and we kissed.
God, that boy's amazing! He's loyal, brave and so sweet it's unbelievable!
"I love you." I muttered to him.
"I know, my chosen one." He said before scooping me up in his arms and carrying me, bridal style, back towards the food.
. . .
The sun was beaming down on us once we returned to the picnic. Despite what'd just happened, Harry seemed to have got his nervous look back although, thankfully, he wasn't afraid to look at me.
. . .
We were gathering up the food waste and wrappers we had left. The sun was setting over the mountains that surround the area, casting a beautiful orange glow upon the horizon.
Then I remembered something.
"I didn't see who I got for my chocolate frog card!" I said outloud. The card was face down, still lying on the gorgeous green grass.
I turned it over to reveal a young looking witch with long, red hair and soft brown eyes. She was smirking in a mischievous way towards me, almost George like manor. Wait a moment, it was me!
Below the picture a title read:
Ginny Potter
Huh? That's must've been a mistake? I turned around to point this out to Harry, only to find him down on one knee. In his hand he held a gold ring with a ruby the size of a galleon!
"That is," he said nervously. "If you'll take my last name."
I gaped down at him like a fish out of water. I couldn't move or speak.
"Read the back." Harry suggested.
I forced myself to move my hand and flipped the card over. Finding my voice, I read allowed:
"Ginny Potter
Date of birth- August 11, 1981
One of the main heroes of The Battle of Hogwarts and helped to bring Lord Voldemort's downfall. But she's not only brave. She's smart, funny, and she has nice skin."
I snorted with laughter at this point. Harry had told me about his conversation about me in his sixth year!
"She also is the love of Harry Potter's life, he'd be lost without her. She's his first thought every morning, and the last when he falls asleep at night. She helped him in a number of ways she never even knew. She gives him hope every time she smiled at him. Just the thought of her helps him get through the day, no matter how tough that day is.
But she's not just a pretty face. She can fight her way out of practically any situation and if you get on her bad side you should watch out. She can do the worlds best bat bogey hex! She's just the sort of girl Harry Potter needs."
"Ginny, will you marry me?"
But these words came from the boy crouched down next to her. The boy who she had grown up hearing stories about. The boy who saved her from the Basilisk and Tom Riddle. The boy who had been through p so much and asked for so little. The boy whom she loved.
"Harry! I- of cour- y-!"
It was at that moment my words were cut off by a scream coming from the castle.
