Harry rustled through the drawers in his lab at CERN, looking for his notes. It had been eleven years since he had been incarcerated in his own school and forced to fight for his life. Since then however, two things had caught his curiosity in a vice grip: how did the weapon he was infected with, Haemos, work, and what was the purpose of the crystal that had started the entire event? Of course he had practiced using his power, now having full control of it, but that didn't bring him any closer to understanding it. He carried on searching through his drawers, and found a folder marked "CONFIDENTIAL" with the United Nations logo on it. The UN. They were behind what had happened before, so Harry had plenty of reasons to hate them. He opened the folder without a second thought, and his face lit up. "So...they were right under my nose the whole time." He read the contents of the folder, then picked up his phone.
"Hello, Dylan Thomas speaking." Dylan said down his mobile phone. "Ah, Harry! So good to hear from you." He listened to Harry as he spoke of his discovery. "Wait, you found what?" He asked, shocked. "But of course, I'll be there within the week." Dylan hung up the phone. "Well, it looks like the ball is in our court now..." He started to pack.
"Hey, this is Dr. Millen, who's this?" Oliver had just got home when his phone rang. "Oh, hi Harry, long time no see, how's things?" Oliver asked cheerfully. "Oh no...dude, you know this is bad stuff. I'm with you, but seriously, you should know the risks here." Oliver said grimly. "Alright, I'll make it for the Tuesday." He hung up the phone and pinched the bridge of his nose. "This won't end well..."
"Heyo! Halle Bletsoe speaking." Halle picked up the phone, "Wow, Harry, who'd have thought I'd get a call from you? I thought you'd be off on your mad scientist routine." Halle laughed. Suddenly she froze up. "Don't. Just don't. I'm not going to let that happen again Harry." She was scared. "Alright, I'll be there on Tuesday, but please, reconsider this." She hung up.
"Hey there stranger," Gwen said down the phone, "What can I do you for?" Gwen had her phone in one hand, and the wheel of her car in the other. "Ok, you're on speaker now, Dan can hear you too Harry." The car suddenly pulled over and Gwen screamed down the phone. "No! There is no way that anyone else is going to go through that!" Dan tried to get a point in, but to no avail, Gwen raged with the fury a thousand times more than he could ever have. But, still, he interrupted her. "Ok, we'll be there, see you then Harry." Gwen hung up, and glared at Dan. "Why did you agree to that?" She asked.
"Simple, we can't have him handle it alone. The more people there, the less likely it is that he would do anything drastic."Harry pored through the papers, amazed. He closed them, and put them onto the table. The front read, "Report: Haemos by Dr. Segai." Harry left the room, going to get some paper.
The first to arrive was Oliver. He had arrived at the CERN lab early on Tuesday morning, having just got off the plane. He walked through the corridors, until he reached a door labelled "Professor Punter" he knocked, and two armed guards with UN armbands opened the door. "Name?" One of them asked.
"Oliver Millen, I was invited here by Professor Punter." Oliver replied, glaring at the two men belonging to the organisation that had brought him so much pain. They checked a list, then one of them looked at him again. "Alright, go in." He said, and let Oliver pass.Oliver looked around the lab, amazed at just how much Harry had accomplished, as he saw notes scattered around the room. The blueprints for the first functioning biodome, localised climate alteration devices and much more. "Nice set you have here dude." Oliver said, Harry carrying a pile of papers over to a table. "Thanks, I take it you're the first?" Harry asked.
"Yeah, although, it looks like you've got the rest now." Oliver gestured to the door, as Dan, Gwen and Halle came in. Greetings were exchanged, and everyone devolved into small talk for a few hours.Dylan walked down the halls of the lab, carrying himself with pride, he approached the guards, and flashed an ID badge, and they separated. He entered the lab. "Harry my friend!" He called out, seeing the group. "How are you?"
"I'm good, but now that you're here, let's get to the main point." Harry got up, and placed the papers into his projector. Up came many diagrams and scrawled handwriting, some Harry's, some Segai's. "I found the notes on how Haemos was produced. However, the strain used on us was just a prototype. With a bit of hard work, I believe that I have completed it, and that now it can be of actual use to humanity." Instantaneously, Gwen stood up. "No! You're not going to do what he did, there's no benefit worth that sort of cost!" Harry maintained his composure, quite unlike him.
"You misunderstand, I'm not using the crystal. I have managed to synthesise Haemos, to the point at which the crystals are unnecessary, and you don't start growing them as time progresses. Also, we have little choice in the matter, I brought you all on to this in order to give you some form of control, but as you can see, the UN already have their hands on this. They've given me the funds and the rights to create a biodome of considerable size in an unpopulated area of Siberia. All we have to do is fill it with teens from around the world. So, I ask you all, are you with me?"
