Chapter 10

Gabriel told me his history again as he had told be before as well.

I was feeling sad for him . I didn”t expcet his father left him alone in the forest and his stepmother was cruel too. How could she be so cruel on this small boy. He is nearly of my  age.  I sighed in pain. I too can understand when you get abandon by your own blood and flesh. “ I also don”t know about my parents. When I opened my eyes, I found myself with uncle Jhon and Auny Emma. But I feel blessed by god, cause they are far much better than any other parents. They both take care of me and my needs very well. I am fortunate” Gabriel face gone calmed like before.

“ Yes, you are, I became selfish after seeing you. I wanted you to stay here with me but now I think you should go to your Uncle Jhon and Aunt Emma You don’t worry, I am with you in your journey. I will not leave your side till you reach your home. He held my hands and made promise to me.

“ I knew you are a friend. I am so glad I found you” I smiled back.

Let”s go. I don”t wanted to waste more time. We both stood on our feet and started back on our journey.

There were no fences at all by the roadside now, and the land was rough and untilled. Toward evening they came to a great forest, where the trees grew so big and close together that their branches met over the road of yellow brick. It was alomost dark under the trees, for the branches shut out the daylight： but the travellers did not stop, and went on into forest.

“ Remember this way, I am not sure, we are on right path or not. If this road goes in ，that means cleared there will be a way to go other side. We can just assume, as the  City is at the other end of the road, we must go wherever it leads us” Gabriel held my hand and my bird sat on my shoulder.

This journey wasn’t that easy as I thought. It gonna be much tougher now. ” I am very glad I got Gabirel with me in my joureny, things looking now bite easier”.

After an hour or so the light faded away and we both found ourseleves stumbling along in the darkness.  I coult not see at all, it was that dark, my eyes gone blind. But my bird could see through, I think Birds can see in the dark. Again I stumbled down.

“ Gabriel I can not see properly for me everything is dark. Can you see？” I hold his hand tighter in fear.

“ Yes Ashely. I am absoutely fine. You don”t worry. Hold my hand tightly. You wouldn’t loose your balance” he squeezed my hand.. So I took hold of his arm, and managed to get along fairly well.

We kept walking for a long time, but this darkness did not end.

“ Gabriel I can not walk more, my legs are exhausted. Can we stop somewhere and have rest” I pleaded.

“ Yeah！ why not, we need to find out better place to rest. Shortly Gabriel and I reached in a small Cottage. That Cottage was made up of chocolates.

The light was on about the cottage.

My eyes gone tore apart, Oh my god. Is this real？ Really this cottage is made up of chocolates”. me and gabriel ran toward the cottage to have a look close look.

“ Should we touch and see” Gabriel smirked at my direction. Our innocent smirks turned into the evil one.

We both stretched our hands to pluck the chocolates from the cottage. We broke and started eatting. “ This is so yummy and creamy” Gabriel yelled in delight.

Suddenly the window of the cottage open and we both get scared.
