Chapter 7

The Land of Awkward Witch.

After few hours the road began to be rough, and the walking grew so difficult. The wind is very rough and dry. Marry found difficulty to fly. My and her thorat go dry. Dusty whirling in the air in small waves of cyclones. The farms were not nearly so well cared for here as they were farther back. There are fewer houses and fewer fruit trees, and the further we go the more dismal and lonesome the country becomes. I am feeling hungry now and marry too. I have no food to eat ,no water to quench our thirst.

" I am feeling so hungry and thristy. I dont think I can survive more than 2 hours". my bird complaint. I know my bird. she is so melo darmatic bird.

" I am also feeling the same but to whom I complain to. I have never felt so responsible in my life , after coming here I have learnt lots of things in life. I act like a mature girl" I aviod my bird's gaze.

This place looks very awkward. There are dry flowers and live flowers on same pave. There are some birds in the sky who looks normal but there are more other birds who's having an animal bodies with bird wings.

I saw a girl coming to my direction. She is wearing big long yellow gown, with ear rings on. Wearing black shinny shoes matching her gown. but one this is weird about her is. She is having a long nose like I have red in witch books.

" Who are you？" she asked me.

" Hello my name is Ashley I am from Kanara Country". I replied.

" I have never heard about it. Where is this country"？she looked suprised.

" That country is far off. By mistake I landed in this country". I go blank.

" hmm". she fold her hands across her chest. " You look hungry if you don't mind. I can feed you". she smiled.

I followed her without arguing about anything. I believed her what she said. But my suprise things didn't turned in the way as I thought.

Her house looks really pretty from out side but from inside there is dark everywhere. Whole house walls are covered with black color.

" Before I feed you , you have to do some favour to me. You have to clean my whole house , clothes, shoes, water plants, etc. Once you done with these works. I will feed you. Now get on work". She showed me.

First I went in the kitchen to clean utensiles I kept washing dishes but it didn't end. I worked in the house more than 5 hours but works didn't finished. I sat down in exhausation.

"That's weird you have been working since 5 hours but still your works are pending. Are you sure there is no trick". my bird tried to help me understand the situation.

" I am sure she wouldn't let us go until you finish the works but the problem is this , this works are never ending works".

My face falls down. "Now what will we do？" my voice shiver in fear.

" Ashely your works aren't done yet. How will I feed you？. if you wouldn't be able to finish works then in punishnent I will give you more work". she yelled at me in anger.

A day turned into days but my works aren't compeleted. I'm feel like I 'm trapped. Conciously I became slave of this witch.

" I wouldn't let you live your life peacefully. I will make your each day full of difficulties". she laughed evilly. Now she started beating and torturing me and she caged my bird too.

" We need to run away from here. She is made our lives worse". marry said.

" How can we leave I have promised her. I will complete her works. But this work seems endless". I looked down

" Ashely you are innocent she tricked us. She made fake promises. She knew her works are endless. She just wanted us to bring here".

" Oh you pig, what are you doing near to your bird. I have told you many times don't speak to his evil bird. I don't like her". She sniffed in anger. " Take these clothes and get ready. I have some special plan for you". she evily smirk and closed the door on my face.

" What she was talking about". marry inquired.

" I have no idea lets see" I dressed in red gown wore red matching long hat like witch wears. I look my self in the mirror.

" You looking great Ashley but be careful. I turn around in her direction and nodded.

" Go gets some foods for guests" she ordered as I entered in the room.

I served foods to each person in the room.

" Ladys and Gentelmen today I am making a big announcement. As you all know my brother Mathew willing to marry a girl but since very long time he ain't able to find his match. But I believe now he's this search come to an end. My brother have chose a girl for himself. I would like to announce the girl name now. Her name is Ashely". as soon as she took my name all started mumbling and gossiping and looking at my direction like I have contagious disease.

" But I can not get marry to your brother. I am just 10 years old kid". suddenly my eyes fall on the mirror which just placed besides the girl. Her image appears as a Witch, wearing black gown and pointed hat. She stared me with dead eyes.

I go slient this is not right time to argue when you know you are surrounded by evil witches.

" I said so I said, I don't care what do you think". she whisperes in my ear. and her's brother gave me evil smirk from distance as well.

Before sleeping she have told to clean entire room, but the issue is ? the room didn't cleaned after spending 9 hours in cleaning. After witch sleep, I went into my room.

" Marry I think you are right. She is tricked us". I told my bird what did I saw in the party.

" As you known the truth. We shouldn't stay here anymore. She has plan make you her slave". marry said. I sliently open the cage and make my bird sit on my shoulder.

We tried to open the door but all house doors and windows are clocked from inside.

" What should we do now. We are trapped". I start crying in panic.

" There is one way still open. My bird said while giving me reassaurance. I look her in disbeleieve.

" Yes, the chimmeny". she answer.

My bird has wings, its easy for her to cross through chimmeny but for me it is task but help of my brilliant bird we both managed to cross through chimmeny.

After come out of the house we both took relief breathe in the open air. And gave smile to each other.

" Hey! do you see that". Marry chripped

" What ?".I asked.

" See those Yellow light coming from that direction". She looked little astonish

" Oh that is Yellow Land. We have to go there. We are arriving close To our destination". I smile while I walk.
