Chapter- 41

ISHA'S POV

I was in utter shock.

I looked at him as he spoke everything.

"Wh.. Why didn't you tell her the truth. Why didn't you stop her. Why didn't you tell her that Vikram was not going to sign those papers & there was nothing in those papers " I asked as I cried

"For a time being I was not in any right senses to do anything. Her anger was at peak. My one step towards her would've caused me worse. I thought to wait. Dad,mom and Mihira were shattered. Dad didn't speak to me for a week. For him, Avika was just like Mihira. His second daughter. And why won't she be. After all she was his best friend's daughter. That day, I went to her home and I told Naina aunt & Advik uncle everything " He said

"What did.. They say" I asked

"Naina aunt was too shocked to react and Advik uncle...the hurt was visible in his eyes. Though till now, he never blamed me for this because he blamed himself for not trusting his own daughter once more then me" He further told and I sighed.

"You should've told them Mihir. You should have told them that you never wanted bad for Avika. You were wrong but your intentions weren't. You deserved a chance" I screamed and he looked at me.

"I too thought that. That.. I deserve chance. I didn't do anything for some months because I thought that may be, maybe she'll at least go back to NY. But she didn't. So I ordered to find her. She was in LA. " he whispered

"You found her. " I asked and he looked at me.

"In July end. " He said and I looked at him.

"What happened then Mihir" I asked because the hurt in his eyes was visible.

Flashback (MIHIR'S POV)

I was standing at a door of a house in LA.

The paper in my hand was the same address and I took a deep breath ringing the bell.

After a minute, the door was opened and I looked at the person.

It was her!

Our Avika!

But, she was... Pale. The smile of her face was gone and it looked as if she... She was just alive... Not living!

And that burdened me more with guilt.

As she saw me she looked at me with nil expressions and was closing the door when I stopped her.

"Please. Listen to me once" I whispered

"I don't know you" She said

"Don't say like that Avi.. " I mumbled

"It's Avika. And I don't know you" She repeated and I shut my eyes tightly.

"I beg you Avika. Listen to me just once" I said and she looked at me and then turned moving to the room.

I sighed and followed her inside.

"Ten minutes. Start" She said with blank eyes and I sighed.

"That day, the things didn't go like what you saw. I was just afraid for you. I wanted you to be just happy. I know, I know I was wrong. But I didn't do it purposefully. Vik...Vikram. I did a back ground check on him. He...he was a play boy. I didn't want you to be just one of his another flings. I thought he was using you for rivalry with me. You knew that he was my biggest business rival. I really didn't do it purposefully " I explained
