"You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself." ― Marilyn Monroe
――――
EVER SINCE SHE was little, all Marina and her mother went to were parties, balls, cotillions and more- simply because they were wealthy and beautiful. And tonight, was no different. It was around Christmas time and the Malfoy's had decided to throw their extravagant Christmas ball they threw every year, inviting only the wealthy pureblood families.
Though Marina and Marilyn were half-bloods, the pureblood community respected them simply because of their Sanderson blood, last name, and wealthiness. Marina sat and got ready, putting small ringlets of her red hair around her face, while her a bit below the shoulder hair hung down her back. And some, but natural like, makeup.
After fixing her hair and makeup, she changed into a nice, red, silk dress over her corset and pulled up the 't-shirt' like sleeves on her dress before putting on matching heels, and nice diamond jewelry and headed downstairs. Her beautiful platinum blonde mother stood downstairs in a pink velvet gown and gasped slightly when she saw her thirteen-year-old. "You look beautiful Marina!" She said.
"You do too."
"Thank you dear! Now, let's put on our gloves and leave." Marilyn said. So, after putting on their opera length gloves, the two apparated to Malfoy Manor and walked inside.
Most would think they overdressed when really every other woman or girl was dressed the same, while the men wore black dress robes.
Marina looked around and saw Draco standing next to his parents, also wearing black dress robes. He had stopped using hair gel, grown taller, lost all of his baby fat, and was actually a bit handsome. Lucius and Narcissa saw their son looking over in the girls direction and decided to walk over there.
"Narcissa, Lucius." Marilyn greeted them.
"It's so nice of you and Marina to come. Would you like to join us in the ball room?" Narcissa said.
"Of course." And so that left Draco and Marina all alone.
"You look older than you are." Draco said.
"I don't know if that's a compliment or not, but you do too." She replied.
"Come on, Blaise, Pansy, Daphne and Theo are all waiting for us."
They walked into the large ball room that had some Christmas trees placed inside, with lights and golden ornaments that decorated it. This was the only room in the whole manor that wasn't painted black and that didn't look gloomy. The walls were white with gold detailing, a painting on top of the ceiling with a crystal chandelier hanging from it, the floors were marble and had been polished.
