The next four days are spent laying in bed, watching Netflix while wrapped in each other's arms. We order food, nap, watch a movie, then start the cycle over again. Monday morning comes around and reality starts to sink in. Anthony has to go back to work. I hear him in the shower, so I slip in and join him.
"Well hi," Anthony says, grinning at me.
"Hi. I'm sad you have to work today, I was getting used to having you all to myself," I say and laugh.
"I know, me too," he says, taking my face in his hands and pressing a kiss to my lips. I smile and lean into him as the hot water hits my skin.
"Oh, I'm getting my teeth done on Wednesday. I know you just took a few days off, but do you think maybe you could take the day off and come with me?" I ask. Unfortunately, my eating disorder has ruined my teeth, so I've finally decided to do something about it.
"Oh, wow. So soon? Of course, I will. I'll let my boss know today that I need the day off. Should I take Thursday off as well? Or do you think you'll be okay?" Anthony asks.
"Well, I mean, if you really want to, I won't complain," I say. I find his lips and start to kiss him. I move from his lips to his neck, and he throws his head back in pleasure, running his fingers through my wet hair.
"We better make this fast, or I'll be late," he smirks.
*Wednesday morning rolls around and I'm up early because I can't sleep. I hate the dentist and the thought of getting every tooth in my mouth ripped out and replaced is sending anxiety coursing through my veins.
All of a sudden, I hear my elevator open. What the hell? My housekeeper is away for three days, and she doesn't usually come in the mornings anyways. I put a sweater on and make my way out. As soon as I get to the kitchen, I feel my soul leave my body.
"Oh, hi sweetheart," my mother says.
"Uh, hi mom. What are you doing here?"
"I told you I was coming, remember? I figured you'd need someone to be here for you while you're recovering," she says. I'm panicking at this point. If Anthony wakes up and comes out of my bedroom, I'll have no choice but to tell her.
"Okay, thanks mom, but maybe you can go grab a coffee or something? I'm kind of busy right now," I say and her face drops. I feel bad, but she needs to get out of here. "Look, I promise I'll call you in a bit, okay? I have a ride to and from my appointment, but I'd love for you to come over after and spend the night," I say in one breath, practically pushing her out the door.
"Oh, I get it. She's here, isn't she?" My mother laughs. I hear Anthony in the bathroom and my heartrate instantly picks up.
"Uh, yeah. I promise I'll call you when I'm home. I love you," I kiss her cheek and lead her over to the elevator.
"Blake, I better get to meet this mystery woman soon," she smiles and hugs me. The elevator just closes as Anthony turns the corner into the kitchen. I feel my heart stop dead in its tracks.
"Babe? Is someone here?" Anthony asks, looking around with a confused look on his face.
"No, my mom showed up. I managed to get her out though," I say. He can tell how flustered I am.
"Do you want me to leave and pick you up in an hour for your appointment?" He asks.
"No, no it's fine. I'm sorry, I'm being ridiculous. I want you to stay. She's coming back tonight once I get home. I'm sorry Anth, I know you took Thursday off to stay home with me. I completely forgot she was coming," I say, feeling guilty that I don't have the courage to tell her.
