I chewed my lip. "Cocoa Puff, is this really necessary?" Cocoa. giggled and nodded. Then she finished fixing my tie and gave me a quick kiss."Eeeek! I'm so excited! During the concert make sure to push them together okay??" To be honest, I was skeptical about the plan at first. Then after seeing how happy it made my Cocoa Puff, I agreed. There was a nagging doubt at the back of my mind. Even though Cocoa was glowing, I could sense her nerves. Hints of insecurity blemished her happiness. "Cocoa, what's wrong?" She giggled nervously. "What do you mean Choco??..." I narrowed my eyes. She never called me Choco. She sighed and leaned against me. "It's just...Herb seems to like you. A lot." "Huh?" I'd think Herb liked me. We're friends after all. I hope. "He's been super close with you...and stuff."

I tilted her head towards me. "Cocoa Puff. Me and Herb have definitely grown closer." She winced and scooted away from me. I smiled at her. "But we're just friends. And I don't like like him. The only cookie I like like is you." She brightened and wrapped her arms around me to make up for the lost space between us. I cupped her face and kissed her sweetly. "The only cookie I  love, is you." Her cheeks grew darker and she hid her face in my chest. She produced a few muffled words. I took of her hat and stroked her hair. "Cocoa Puff I can't hear you when you're hiding." She revealed her face with a pout and avoided eye contact. "Waaaaa~ I don't deserve you. You're too sweet for me." I laughed and patted her head. "Well, I don't deserve you. You're too adorable." Her face grew darker still. "W-Well...Wa. Let's just get going." She grabbed my hand and dragged us out the door. "You and your mood swings~!" I teased. She let out a puff of air and flicked my forehead. "Hmph." I chuckled quietly to myself as we entered the main square.

As we neared the concert she squatted behind the Jam Pie Diner. "Let's review the plan." I nodded and pulled out a small slip of paper. She pulled out her matching slip and smiled down at it. "Hey-" I tilted her chin. "You should be smiling at me not some piece of paper." I mocked a pout. She giggled and swatted at me. "So, remember the couple cam that happens at the intermission?" "Yes, we were on it once, remember?" She blushed at the memory and attempted to cover her face with the small slip. "Y-Yeah..." I squeezed our held hands and smiled softly at her. "We were both just a batch of burnt cookie weren't we?" She nodded and revealed her flushed face, darkened by embarrassment. "And after the camera switched to another couple you held out your hand.." Cocoa smiled at our linked hands and held them to her cheek. My cheeks darkened. "And you took it." She brought our hands to her lips and gave mine tiny kisses all over. "Cocoa Puff, that tickles!" She looked up at me as she planted the final one. "I'm done then." My face fell a bit in disappointment. Cocoa Puff grinned cheekily and dropped my hand. I sulked a bit and she just laughed. "I'll give you more after the concert okay?" I perked up and smiled happily. "Awww, you are just like a puppy." I flushed at the nickname. Suddenly, fast footsteps interrupted us.

"Hey Choco!" Herb trotted up to me beaming. He peeked over my shoulder and waved at Cocoa. "Hi Cocoa, what are you doing down there?" We shared a look as she giggled and stood up. "Nothing~! Excited for the concert?" He nodded vigorously. "I love Parfait! She is the most amazing pop star ever!" Cocoa smiled. Herb's happiness was contagious. I checked my watch. "Oh it's almost time, let's go?" He hopped in place. "Yay!" Herb grabbed my hand and ran. "Bye Cocoa! See you later!" A jab of worry poked at my stomach. I peeked behind me to see my girlfriend with a crestfallen expression. I shot her a reassuring smile and shrugged at the physical contact. She nodded with understanding. Herb was a sensitive cookie. He could easily spiral and overthink things. That made me afraid to break our held hands. I looked back at Cocoa one more time. She was hopping happily and pointed at something in front of me. I looked back at Herb and saw him smiling and rolling his eyes at an overenthusiastic Sparkling. I smiled. Cocoa Puff's plan. When we reached Sparkling, the only thing I could think about was my Cocoa Puff jumping up and down. Her eyes glowing and a bright smile on her face. A warm feeling flooded my insides. The eagerness to give her that happiness again. This plan will work. I'll make the plan work. For my Cocoa Puff.
