Chapter 12, the chest

-When Stanley, Zero and I got to Stanley's apartment I pulled out a piece of paper. It had my parent's phone number, Zigzag's number and address. I asked Stanley's mom if I could borrow their phone to call my parents.

"Of course sweetie, I'm going to get some food for you and the boys. Alright?" she told me.

I nodded and grabbed the phone, starting to dial the number.

"Hello?" 

I confessed what had happened and even started to cry a little. I told my parents I'd have to stay the next couple of nights with Stanley and his family. And, for once, my parents were patient and calm. I told them the address and they said they'd be here as soon as possible, they told me probably tomorrow.

I was happy, they listened. 

After we finished talking I told them I loved them, then hung up.

As I walked back to the table, I realized they were about to open the chest.

"Okay, one more thing, no matter what is in this box we're a family." Stanley's dad stated.

"We are the Yelnats." his mother added. Stanley started to clap in excitement to find out what was in the chest.

"One"

"Cross your fingers"

"Two"

"Three" Stanley's dad busted the chest open.

"Oh my gosh, honey, you've still got it. You are so strong." Stanley's mom cheered on.

"Oh, my gosh!"

The chest was full of jewlery, gold, silver, rubies, diamonds, pearls.  There were money bills and bars of gold. Everything.

"Oh, boy!"

"Oh my goodness."

"Let me see that."

"Look at this."

"Okay guys, hold on. Hold on," Stanley started "I think it's only fair to split whatever is in this box with my best friends Hector Zeroni and Y/n Y/ln."

"I don't think I can take that much from you guys." I stated.

"Please? You helped me get this chest, how about just one of the share papers? It's the least we can do." Stanley pleaded 

"I mean-" I started to talk until Hector interrupted me.

"She'll take it!"

We all started to laugh at that.

"Now," Stanley's grandpa turned to Hector "is your name really Zeroni?"

"Yup." Stanley's grandpa kissed the top of his head.

Hector used part of his money to hire a private investigator to find his mom, like he'd always said. They later on, reunited.

A/N: All I have left to write is the epilogue, then this book is completed!
