Chapter 4

- two weeks later -

Diana is out of the hospital and finally able to go back to work. She did get kaden back off of Sammy's parents and has tried to keep her distance from sammy with help from her parents. Diana and Darby are continuing their friendship although it's sparked rumors that Diana doesn't play into.

"Here is the plan for today, we want this to go smoothly so either you're gonna be with me or Darby the entire time"Sting told Diana in the hotel before they went to the arena and she just nodded as she finished packing her and kadens things for the day.

"Can I go see if Darby is ready yet?" Diana asked and Sting nodded before picking kaden up.

"Kaden and I will get the car" sting said before walking off with kaden and Diana walked down to Darby's hotel room not realizing some of Sammy's friends had spotted her as she knocked on the door.

"Hey" Darby said when he opened the door wearing no shirt and only jeans and sneakers.

"Come in, I'm just finishing getting ready" Darby said and Diana nodded following him inside.

"Where's my bud" Darby asked referencing kaden who he had become in the last few weeks close to.

"Getting the car with my dad" Diana said sitting down.

"You ok" Darby asked and Diana nodded as he sat beside her.

"I know today is gonna be hard but you have me and your dad with you and I promise you nothing will happen" Darby told her looking her in the eyes their heads got closer before Darby stopped himself and quickly jolted up.

"Right your dads waiting I gotta do my hair" Darby said with a clap of his hands before rushing into the bathroom Diana looked confused over what had just happened but brushed it off.

"You're a dork your hair is sticking up" Diana told Darby when he finally came out and he chuckled.

"Where?" Darby asked Diana approached him touching his hair gently and smoothing it down.

"Got it" she said with a smile before things seemed to go in slow motion again and before either of them realized it they were kissing and Darby pulled Diana into him so she was closer as he held her but before things got any further there was a knock at the door and they jumped apart.

"You two coming?" Sting asked from the other side of the door and Both Darby and Diana hurried to the door opening it revealing sting and kaden.

"Dabby!" Kaden said and Darby quickly picked him up doing his best to put distance between himself and Diana, sting eyed the two confused and watched them while going to the arena and even after the arena he was picking up an odd vibe between the two.

"Hey Britt! Watch her please while she's in the locker room if you need me call my number" sting said and Britt nodded.

"God am I at work or school?" Diana said embarrassed by her dad and Britt giggled.

"Hey it's ok I mean I get it he's being a dad" Britt said as she sat beside Diana.

"So I think Darby hates me now" Diana said as kaden sat on the floor playing with his toys Diana didn't notice he looked up at the mention of Darby.

"Why would he hate you" Britt asked confused and Diana shrugged.

"This morning I went to get him from his hotel room and we kinda kissed and idk what would've happened if my dad didn't show up when he did and Darby now keeps acting weird and trying to keep his distance" Diana said and Britt looked shocked.

"Aww my babies!" Britt said clapping her hands and Diana rolled her eyes.

"I'm not ready to just jump into someone else's arms Britt" Diana said shaking her head before her and Britt got their make up and hair done and once they finished Darby knocked at the door after Diana texted sting to tell her she was done.
