{Chase}

I roused from my dreams. But I did not open my eyes. I was awake, but did not dare move.

Moments before I fell asleep, I realised that it was the first time I had spoken in a long time. I had never talked to anyone vocally in years.

I just hope they didn't see me weirdly. Once I felt ready to confront them, I opened my eyes and saw myself in a brightly lit place.

The natural light streaming in from the windows was almost blinding, against the stark and dull walls, and that unique industrial feel...

It was a hospital. I was in a hospital.

Great. I don't have enough money to pay for the fees here...

I sat there in inconsolable silence, my only solace was that I was away from my father and that house. I bet he doesn't even know I'm here right now, and even if he did he would assume I was about to die and I know for sure he wouldn't even care if I did.

And frankly, it's a relief he doesn't know where I was. At the very least; for a while I was away from my father. Entirely outside of his influence and knowledge.

Ever since mom left, I was never out much outside of school or when I had to pick up supplies for me to live on.

As I was busy zoning out, thinking about my family situation; I heard the rustle of footsteps at the door and muffled voices nearing my vicinity.

"...And here I thought that you were just acting as a normal person, not an actual doctor! Can't believe you never told me about this hospital, Uncle." An enthusiastic and cheery voice closed in, loud enough for me to hear.

"To be fair to me though, if you knew about this place, you'd be annoying me a lot. In the same way you are right now." I could hear another voice as well, the other party's uncle most likely. Patient and a mellifluous voice, as expected of a doctor.

"Jeez, lighten up a little. It's not like I'm an annoyance every day..." The doctor's nephew spoke again, his tone softening.

As I pondered on who they were, the doors were then set ajar and three people entered the room. I then spotted two familiar faces.

The two men from before I fainted. The one who called himself Hermit and the other, Archer.

Hermit seemed to be around the same height as me, perhaps a little taller than my 5'6 ft stature. He exuded an effortless charm that could captivate anyone. He was a slightly tanned teen with raven dark short hair and had emerald green eyes that shimmered in the sunlight. His attire consisted of a casual ensemble, similar to what I would wear on a daily basis. A blue denim jacket over a white shirt plastered with an starlet symbol, and cream-coloured trousers that contrasted with his dark brown boots. On his ears were a pair of black studs, which I thought were pretty cool.

On the other hand, Archer, his partner; was more cool and nonchalant. His dark blonde hair was gelled back slick, adorning a nice smart casual attire consisting of a dark blue long sleeve polo with an open black blazer over it. To tie it all off, he went with a khaki chino and sleek brown shoes. Archer, unlike Hermit's mischievous and boyish style; was more aloof and formal. Keeping a steady neutral smile that shifted into a right upturned smirk whenever his gaze leaned to his partner.

And last but not least, the doctor. He was, about as professional as any doctor would be. White coat over a white polo, standard black slacks and.... Ostentatiously opulent shoes apparently. Black dress shoes with a golden buckle. How neat.

The doctor was handsome to say the least, but there was something about him that felt oddly comforting and strangely different.

Maybe it was his glowing platinum blonde hair, his wide smile, his shimmering sapphire eyes.... Hm. No. There was something there radiating off of him that was almost like....
