I've been connecting with my HXH DR more than any other lately so I'm gonna talk about how they are like!

Starting off with Gon! My first impression of him was how optimistic he is, no matter what kind of situation, he's always reassuring everyone. Though because of that he makes promises that seem quite hard to keep, though almost all of the times he manages to keep them. He first seems kind of dense, if you use sarcasm around him he won't understand, like if you say things like Oh of course I can defeat them, piece of cake, about someone obviously way stronger as sarcasm, he'd encourage you saying stuff like yeah that's the spirit I believe in you! However if you really observe him, you'd realise sometimes he actually does understand things, he is actually really smart that some people would think he is an ENFP (MBTI if you don't know about it ignore this part), but I can understand why he is actually ESFP. For example his match with the candle guy, it seems Gon really thought outside the box and thought super logically to win, but actually it's because of how simple he thought, that he was able to win. The strategy was really simple and easy to understand, the only reason people don't realise is because most smarter people would think that you'd need a harder solution, and you need to come up with something elaborate. Then you'd easily miss the simple route.

That really showed he's an ESFP instead of ENFP, because he just processed the information he had, and applied his simple and realistic idea. Another example is when he came up with the plan to get into Greed Island, again it wasn't a huge elaborate plan, he simply analyzed the information he had, and thought of a simple solution, which Killua didn't even think of, even when he's portrayed as way smarter. Gon's simple mind and his ability to be able to focus on his goals are really what makes him him, he doesn't ever think that things are impossible, or the consequences of his actions, which can be good or bad. It's because someone who takes no risks, will never get far, which is why him not thinking about the consequences and only focusing on his goal is really impressive. He also doesn't hyperfixate, you might think him solely being fixated on his goal counts, but that is really his way of focusing and working towards his goal the most efficiently. He never hyperfixate in the way where he's greedy, he always plays quite fair and when he's reached his goal, that's it until he finds another reason for another goal. Like after his adventure he decided to settle to study at Whale Island, he isn't greedy, he simply does what he wants to and stops when he wants to. His desires aren't influenced by others as well, for example it's easy for people to loose track of what they like, when trendy things come along and everyone likes something else.

So Gon's self control is really impressive, despite people thinking differently such as the time where he tried to break into the Zoldyck manor. It's because that has nothing to do with self control, he wasn't doing that on an impulse, he thought that was the best way to his goal, nothing more nothing less. It's also why he was so quick to drop the idea immediately after hearing Zebro's reasoning, it's not because he's impulsive that he ignored that fact, like many people when they loose self control, but it's because Gon's simple mind had not thought of that outcome, and even if he was 'calm', he wouldn't have because his brain just doesn't think that way. The only time where he lost control, is when it came to Kite. Friendship is one of the most important things to him, so when that boundry was crossed, especially since he has never lost anyone close to him, he snapped. Though that is the one time he lost self control throughout the series, despite many people thinking that him acting 'impulsively' was him loosing self control, however it was just him acting out what he thought was the best action, and something he wouldn't regret doing.

Coming back to another point about ESFP, is that he actually cares about life a lot because of what he was taught by Aunt Mito. ESFP really learns the information and processes them, instead of thinking for his own, though Gon does think for himself, it's often about his goals and things he's doing rather than exactly how he felt about morals. His morals are more based on how the people effected him, not how the people are. Though of course he cares a lot about the people close to him, his care for random lives and animals more sprouted from his teachings than his natural instincts. Thus why he didn't exactly care when people died in the Hunter's exam, or when he spoke to the Cameleon chimera ant that if he betrayed or lied to Gon he can then freely destroy him. It's because he sees the world as really black and white, if you are good to Gon, you are good, if you haven't effected him or his friends in anyways, he doesn't care, if you have effected him or his friends negatively, you are bad, with some exceptions with innocent lives taken away, he doesn't care if you signed up for something that could cause your death, like the hunter's exam. Which is why even when he heard Killua was an assassin, he only thought he was cool and not that he has killed many, unlike his reactions to the phantom troupe. To summarise, he is a hypocrite in some ways.

He's always thoughtful of others though, very often he notices if I'm uncomfortable first, or if anyone feels left out or anything, he's always the first to help. He is extremely kind to everyone he meets unless he already know them and dislike them for their actions, but even then he does not ignore their words, if someone is speaking to him he will still open mindedly listen to them, unless they are saying something that he strongly believes otherwise. That is quite rare in people, most people take the words of the people they hate with a grain of salt, and is not very open minded to things they say. Which is why I think he really tries to process information without bias unless it's about something he already has a strong opinion on. His whole character is so contradictory, he's open minded, naive, trusting, but also at the same time always views the world through his prospective, and can't really see things from other's prospective, even if he does process information open mindedly from someone's prospective, he isn't very empathetic. He can be sympathetic, but never empathetic.

He is really sweet and kind, and really genuine, which is why many feel a pull towards him. He definitely does not have a fragile masculinity, and is willing to let you paint his nails or dress him up if it makes you happy. He has NO shame, no shame at all, he is never embarrassed with anything he does, which is admirable. Overall he's a great friend, and I appreciate him a lot, though like everyone, he has flaws, but even so he is one of the most genuine and sweet person I've ever known.

I meant for this to be a small paragraph and to fit all the HXH characters into one chapter lmaoo, but I'm gonna do them seperately now. I ramble on a lot.
