Kiran
Out of everything I thought Rose might want, I didn't think she'd ask me to be faithful.
It was given I would be.
So then, even if we didn't work out, I would've ended up having to fuck my hand for the rest of my life. I wasn't going to sink down to my father's level. Cheating wasn't an option, ever.
I still thought Rose deserved to live her life, but I guess it was too late now anyway. Backing out of this deal was no option. We were to get married, sooner than later.
My father handled the details. He even had a contract done to sign already. But of course he would. It wasn't a marriage certificate, but an agreement nonetheless.
"... the last paragraph states that Kiran is obligated to get Rose pregnant," my father said.
I knew it was coming. The expected pregnancy, I mean, but I didn't think it would be in a fucking agreement. I had been told Rose wanted a child out of this, but judging by the look on her face, I truly doubted it.
She looked surprised. Like she had already accepted that she'd never have children. The way she looked wasn't one that said she knew of this. At all.
I couldn't believe she was okay with all of this. She was getting treated like a business deal, when she was her own person. Rose had her own opinions, own wishes. Yet she agreed to everything that my father wanted. At some point, I started to fight for her, for fuck's sake.
She couldn't have possibly been okay with being degraded like that. Seen as an object rather than a person. She wanted to accept me deciding everything, wanted to accept that she had to ask me for permission to do anything because that was what a good wife did.
I almost lost it right then and there. If I was already forced to marry, I at least wanted a wife, not another employee.
"Rose will stay with you until the wedding," Chris said, earning himself a gasp from Rose.
"That's not what dad told me," she blurted out, now crossing her arms over her chest. "He said this was just dinner. And I didn't even bring clothes."
"They'll be dropped off tomorrow."
"Why didn't I hear of that?" I asked. Surely my mother could've mentioned that.
"Must've slipped my mind," she answered. My father kept quiet for once.
Just great. It was just fucking great. I hadn't exchanged a lot of words with Rose this whole time, only today found out I was even supposed to get married, and now she was to move in already. This day couldn't have gotten worse.
"What if I am expecting someone?" I asked. I wasn't, but they didn't know that.
"Cancel your sex-date then, son. You've got yourself a fiancée. Congratulations."
Congratu-fucking-lations, indeed.
From there, it took my parents and Chris about five minutes until the fled my penthouse. They knew if they stayed any longer, I would've eventually found reasons to call this whole shit off and accepted not inheriting my father's firm.
While I walked them to the elevator, Rose must've started to clean up the table because when I came back into the dining room, it was only half-filled anymore.
I looked at her. Really looked at her. I hadn't allowed myself to take her in when I first saw her, but I thought now I was allowed to look at my fiancée. My goddamn fiancée.
She was pretty. Her dark hair long, and not straightened for once. Still, they went down beneath her breast, which left me wondering how often I could wrap them around my fist.
