<<flashback>>

The entire day of your anniversary you prepared a large feast consisting of Sehun's favorite dinner food and dessert to top it off.

The process had taken hours but at the end of the day, with you having to call in sick from training that you know would later result in meeting with the CEO and having him lecture you, but, you would go to the ends of the universe for Sehun.

Even despite him not coming home and being at the bar the entirety of the week before then screaming at you when coming home, and then passing out on the couch.

You were patient because there was a strong love you had for him and the two of you had formed a strong bond with one another.

One that you didn’t want to break.

The late afternoon had turned into evening and now you sat in the sunlit living room, waiting patiently for your lover to return from work.

He had taken a job at a photo studio. As a photographer.

And then the evening turned to night and now you were getting worried…and hungry.

The smell of the delicious food you had cooked earlier wafted in the air, enticing you to come and eat.

But you didn’t.

You wanted to share a romantic meal with Sehun once he came back home.

And then night turned to midnight.

By then you were still plopped on the couch this time in tears and with a small bowl of food in your hands.

The candlelit dining table had been abandoned completely after you brought all of the food back in the kitchen to store.

You should’ve known.

Deep down you did, but it was nice to imagine a good time between you two…for once.

Suddenly the door to your quarters swung open and Sehun stumbled in.

The sight of him made your heart crack.

He had broken your promise, just like you expected.

“Lili, hi sweetheart,” he slurred, a mischievous grin forming on his face as he started towards you with a determined look in his eye.

You said nothing as you picked up your plate and brought it to the kitchen to wash.

“What’s wrong baby? It’s our anniversary we should be celebrating!” he smiled drunkenly as you scrubbed your plate.

You were still silent as you placed the now clean plate onto the rack.

Dissatisfied with your lack of talking, Sehun pulled you into his arms, your head hitting his chest.

You could immediately smell the alcohol on him.

You could feel your anger building up in your system with every inhale you took.

“Get off of me!” you shoved him off of you.

The curly-haired man’s face was shocked.

“I made you a nice dinner and dessert which were your favorites and planned a night for us. And you broke your promise just like I knew you would,” you scoffed, crossing your arms over your chest.

Sehun was silent but you could feel anger radiating off of him.

“Well it’s our anniversary so I’m obviously going to go celebrate with drinks,” he scratched his head while you stared at him with disbelief.

“Right after I told you not to? Right after I told you that I wanted you to be with me today?” you challenged, arching an eyebrow.

“Me and my friends were celebrating you I don’t understand why you’re so mad,” Sehun's voice was raised an octave higher which made your anger rise.

“Your friends? You should’ve been celebrating with your partner!” you yelled.

“Well I wasn’t,” he hissed which made you flinch from his harsh words.

For a beat, it was silent before you regained your confidence.

“So you’d rather be drinking out at a bar with friends than be with your partner?” you questioned as Sehun let out a grunt of anger.

“You can’t just make me choose between alcohol and you, Lalisa!”

“Why? Why the hell not?” you screamed.

“Because I’ll fucking choose alcohol!” Sehun let out a guttural scream that sent spit flying.

You stepped back, a feeling of sadness washing over you.

You stepped back, a feeling of sadness washing over you.

That was it. This was the final crack in the glass. You’d had enough of his drunken manner and hurtful words.

“I’m leaving,” you said simply, fighting back tears.

“What?” the frustration in Sehun's voice had dissipated and was replaced with confusion.

“You heard me,” your voice was soft.

“No..no,” your boyfriend shook his head vigorously trying to deny your words.

“I’m sorry, Sehun but I deserve better. I deserve someone that will dedicate their time and effort to me and not make promises they can’t keep, I am out here risking getting out of the company, getting out of the debut line up but you..” your voice cracked as you watched Sehun break down and drop to his knees, crying.

“Please, I can’t do this without you,” he sobbed as you gulped.

“I’m sorry but I want someone to choose me over their drinks,” you shivered as you went to your shared room and started to gather all of your necessities.

From the doorway, you could see Sehun sobbing on the floor, his face in his hands as his whole body shook violently.

You folded your clothes nicely and put them in a suitcase along with a toothbrush and other necessities.

Once you were finished you returned to the room Sehun was in as he continued to cry.

Your heart softened as you saw his broken form.

You matched.

You came up to him and put his head on your stomach so that he was lying partially on it. His hands wrapped around your legs as your hands tangled in his hair.

“I’m sorry, lili. I’m so fucking sorry,” he sobbed as you pet his hair.

You didn’t say anything as you continued to stroke his curls, those curls you had grown to adore.
