The recording continues, and Lisa has to perform two more times. For the last round of recording, Jungkook keeps his eyes open compared to the previous two rounds where he had his eyes closed to listen to her, and Jungkook notices Lisa glancing to her side of the audience a lot, albeit discreetly.
It makes his heart flutter and his hand shake more energetically, wanting to show Lisa the best of his supporting abilities although Lisa isn't very likely to pick him out from the crowd, even if he is the only boy around today
It comes to an end too fast for Jungkook's liking, and he keeps his gaze fixed on Lisa as she does their closing greeting. Lisa's perspiring profusely under the hot stage lights despite just standing there, making Jungkook want to wipe it off for her. He smiles to himself at the thought, but he snaps out of it when Lisa brings the microphone up to her lips.
"I'd like to thank you all for coming today," Jennie starts. "I hope you will stay until the end for the live show."
Jungkook can't stay because he's agreed to a lunch appointment with the guys, but he shouts an affirmative reply anyway.
"Also, I heard that it was really cold outside today but you still waited," Lisa says, and everyone suddenly goes quiet. "I appreciate you coming to see us, I'm really thankful, but you don't have to come so early in the morning. Take care of yourselves first, and don't catch a cold!"
Jungkook goes silent, gaping up at Lisa. It feels like Lisa's speaking directly at him, with the way she keeps looking at Jungkook's side of the audience. Half of Jungkook wants to believe that she is, but the other half of him that's more rational tells him that it's impossible. Lisa has no reason to.
"Until now, this has been Blackpink. See you next time! We love you," Jisoo closes, and the members all wave arms enthusiastically as they walk off the stage.
One last time, Lisa looks back and meets eyes with Jungkook. Jungkook's heart stops in his chest when Lisa winks subtly, his eyes crinkling afterwards as she smiles and disappears into the darkness that is backstage, her manager and stylist trailing after her. All around him, the girls are screaming and Jungkook assumes they think the wink was for them, but Jungkook is absolutely positive that they had eye contact and that the wink was especially for him, even if it sounds ridiculous.
