My name is Kol Blackblade and I'm what the dragons call Dovakin and my people call dragonborn. I was born with the innate ability to speak the dragon tongue and absorb their souls after I slay them. I doubt that my parents ever could have imagined their son having such a life. You see I'm not only the Dragonborn but I'm a half breed, half nord half dark elf. It is rare for a person with parents to become a half breed. Most of the time they just take on the traits of their mother. But enough of who I am. Let's talk about my story.

Throughout my life my father had trained me with a sword and my mother attempted to teach me magic. However I seemed to not have any magical aptitude for the most part beyond basic spells. Thus I focused on physical combat for the most part. However I did have immunity to fire and ice from my parents.

My true story began when I was 15. We had taken a trip to visit my moms family in Morrowind. The trip had gone well until we were nearing Skyrim where we were attacked by bandits. While my father could have handled normal bandits with little problem these were different. They're were mages with them and they burnt my father to a crisp leaving me and my mother. My mother looked at me and told me to run. And so I did. I looked back and saw my mother get a sword through her chest. At that moment I broke but I kept running. I ran for what felt like days without sleeping or eating. I don't know where I ran too but I found myself in some mountain range till I finally fell unconscious. The next thing I knew I awoke in a cart bound. In that cart was someone I recognized well. Ulfic stormcloak. He had hired my father many times for various assignments. I had even attended a few feasts held in his Hall.

We were brought to Helgan and I had my head placed on the block. I was so weak in that moment that I accepted death. However the fates had other plans for a dragon attacked Helgan allowing me to escape. I would eventually learn that the dragon that saved me was the world eater Alduin.

Eventually I made my way to Whiterun where I soon learned that I was dragon born. I answered the summons of the Greybeards and proceeded to grow my thums power. Eventually with the help of the blades I slew Alduin in Sovengard. While in its halls I saw my father. He told me he was proud to call me his son. After I returned to Skyrim I proceeded to go on many more adventures. However that was 4 years ago now.

And while the last four years has been full of adventure I have also lost everything. The companions, who I considered my new family were wiped out by the silver hand leaving me the last remaining member. I never became a werewolf but they still considered me a part of the circle. For a time I was a student at the collage of winterhold. The Arch mage took me under his wing and even though I wasn't that skilled at magic he gave me his time. However he was killed by Ancano while he was trying to get power from the eye of magnus. Not that any of it matters anymore.

I joined the dawnguard as my new calling. I thought that hunting vampires would give me purpose. And it did just not in the way I was expecting. I met a vampire named Serana. She was different than the other vampires of her clan. She joined me in stopping her father from blocking out the sun to let vampires rule the world unrestrained. And we were successful. Not without loss However....

In our final battle with Harkon he appeared behind her and drove his sword through her heart. Just like that, another person I loved was gone and I was only 19.

After I defeated Harkon I started to wander alone. So I wandered across skyrim doing jobs for gold or powerful artifacts making sure to not stay in one place for too long if at all. I have come across many of said artifacts in my journey. Items such as Dawnbreaker the Daedric artifact of Meridia, the Skeleton key Daedric artifact of Nocturnal, spellbreaker Daedric artifact of Peryite and several more.

However these artifacts did little to fill the void that was left in me. Which leads me to where I am now sitting starring into a fire I built somewhere in the reach. I had just killed a giant that had been giving travelers trouble and was resting for the night. I had decided to travel light and was only carrying Dawnbreaker, the staff of magnus and my crossbow for weapons. Of course I had the skeleton key with me, you never know when that would be useful.
