Show: Stranger Things

I am definitely a byler stan, but I had to do this for the stranger things fans🤚😩

(Y/N's Pov)

I grabbed my backpack and ran out the front door. "Make sure to be home by 11 tomorrow, Y/N!!" My mom yelled after me. I assured her I would be back before then, and she smiled at me. She waved me off from the front door when I grabbed my bike. I smiled and waved goodbye before peddling away.

Making my way through Hawkins, I met up with Dustin and Lucas, but Will couldn't make it because he had something to do with his mom and brother. "Yo! Y/N, my main dnd nerd!!" Dustin yelled out, high-fiving me and giving his signature toothy grin. "Hey, Dustin! Are you ready for tonight? It's gonna be awesome!" I smiled, sticking my hands in my pockets. "Obviously!" He chuckled. "Well, let's head inside already." Lucas laughed, his patience running out.

We all dropped our bikes and ran up to Mike's house. Knocking on the door at the same time, we laughed at each other. Soon the door opened and revealed Nancy. Her face looked excited for a slight second but changed when she saw us. "Oh, it's just you." She said. "Wow, thanks, Nance," I said, rolling my eyes. We all pushed past her and ran into the house. We all looked down the entrance of the basement and saw it was pitch black.

"What the hell..." Lucas said. We all got that same look on our faces. "I swear, Mike! If you're playing a prank, I will kill you!" I yelled down the stairs as I escalated, Dustin and Lucas following suit. It was literally pitch black; you couldn't see anything even though it was the middle of the day. I tried to look around as much as I could. But it was no use.

All of a sudden, something moved, and a flashlight shined in our eyes, making us wince and jump back. The flashlight then moved up to reveal Mike's face, which gave us a weird glare. "Mike, you fucker! I'm going to kill you!" I shouted, about to give him an earful, but was pulled back by a laughing Dustin. "You wish to enter the dragon's keep? Then you have to guess the password to even seek!" He told us. I knew exactly what it was. I looked back at the two who were kinda confused. "Don't worry, guys, I got this," I said, cracking my knuckles and my neck.

I stepped up to Mike and smirked. "DnD," I said, making him smile and slide out of our way. "Well, this one is a smart-ass!" He chuckled. I laughed and flipped the light switch on because I wasn't about to be kept in the dark. "Alright then! You have entered to dragon's keep and are walking through his many treasures, amazed by the great beauty! But this is not the reason you have come here." He said, walking in front of us and guiding us to the table to start our campaign.

(Later that night)

"Alright, well, I need some sleep, so I'm outta this campaign." I yawned, stretching back my arms. I got up and fell back onto the couch, closing my eyes for a split second before getting whined at. "We haven't even finished yet!" Lucas stated, motioning at the board in disappointment. I rolled my eyes and continued to try my best to sleep. I heard them all sigh and get up, probably going to the guest rooms 'cause they're more comfortable.

I turned over onto my side and opened my eyes to see if they were all gone, but I was shocked because Mike was just sitting there in his chair, staring at me. I looked away and tried to act like I didn't see that. "So, are you actually going to sleep, or do you just want to get out of the campaign?" He asked. I looked back over at him and smirked. "Both," I said, making him chuckle a little at how lazy I was.

"Um. How are things going with El?" I asked, making him give me a weird side glance. "I don't know, seems just fine to me. Nothing really different than before." He told me, twiddling his thumbs. "Why do you ask?" He asked. I looked around and tried to come up with an excuse. "Just trying to make small talk since you were staring at me earlier," I said, making him hesitantly look away. "Have you ever thought about... I don't know, breaking up with her?" I queried, staring down at the fabric of the couch in wait for his response. "No, why would I? El and I are doing.... just fine." He mumbled, rubbing his arm nervously.

I looked at him in disbelief. Could things be crumbling between the two? I sat up and crossed my arms, giving him a scowl. "When were you going to tell me you guys hit a rough patch? I thought we were best friends?" This made him nervously bite his lip and look to the ground. "I- I dunno, I just don't know how to tell you things anymore, cause you-" "Don't have a girlfriend? Really Mike? I'm not a robot. I actually have feelings and have had some sort of experience." I interrupted, making him clam up and visibly sweat a little.

"What do you mean by that, Y/N? Do you actually like a girl?" He hesitated, holding back something in his words. I gripped my pants a little in frustration. He'll never see my obvious signs, will he? "Um, just forget what I said. It's not important," I muttered. He looked up at me in worry, but I just ignored it.

We sat there in awkward silence for a while until Mike spoke up. "I uh... should go to bed." He muttered, getting up from his seated position. I couldn't leave the subject I wanted to cover alone, so I did what I could. I grabbed Mike's wrist, and he turned to me. "What is it, Y/N?" He asked. My stomach churned as he looked at me. I felt guilty for what I was about to say. "I can't really express how much I... I like you, Mike. It feels like cement in my stomach when I hear about you and El being all coupley." The silence after that was unbearable. I started tearing up a little, so I stood up and fixed my clothes.

Before I could head up the steps, Mike grabbed me and spun me around to face him. His face was flushed a light pink as he looked at me. It wasn't even two seconds later that he had his lips on mine. I kissed back and held his face in my hands. It wasn't until I started using my tongue that he pushed himself away from me. He wiped his mouth and looked shocked, now realizing what he just did. His eyes flickered to the floor before hitting me.

"I didn't mean for it to go that way... I'm in a relationship with El and-" "Say no more, Mike. I've had enough of you treating me like your toy while you go and frolic around with El! Fuck you!" I yelled, tears rolling down my face. I ran up the stairs as fast as I could, passing Nancy on the way out.

It was raining, but I could care less. I just wanted to go home and forget about this, about him. It wasn't until I got to my bike that I heard footsteps splashing toward me. "Y/N!! Y/N stop! I'm sorry! I was just confused, and I led you on!" He yelled over the rain. My tears fell in sync with the rain that was slowly drenching me. "What the fuck Mike!? Now you're apologizing!? What the hell is wrong with you!?" I screamed. After that, something inside of me just snapped. I grabbed him by the collar, trying to punch him, but I couldn't. I hit his chest in defeat. I sobbed as I slowly fell to my knees.

He just stood there as I sobbed all my feelings out. It wasn't until minutes later that Mike's mom came outside and asked me what was wrong. I couldn't speak, let alone get up from where I was. Mike's mom picked me up and took me inside, grabbing me and Mike a change of clothes.

When I went down to the basement that night, it felt colder than usual. The feeling of being alone, that's what it was. Mike would never be able to figure out his feelings, and I've just got to accept that. He'll always be with El no matter what, never me.
