Chapter 14: At the Capitol/the Interview/Surprise

I woke up and I see Cato next to me smiling. I realized this, why am I not dead yet? Why am I still living? "Cato, you're alive?" I said slowly. "Yes, we are in the Capitol infirmary and they are healing us fine." said Cato. "I'm so happy that, we are alive still." I told him.

"I know, Hazel, I know. I'm happy that you're alive, because I couldn't go on with my life without you." He went on, "Also, I love you so much that without you. My life is incomplete. "I love you too, Cato. My life and everything in it would be incomplete without you too." I told him.

We both woke up and he holds my hand on the rest of the way to the interview of our victory to The Capitol. We both got dressed by our mentors. "Fabio!!" I shouted. "I told you, Hazel that you would win." He said. "I know, thank you. I'm sorry for breaking your rule about not falling in love with someone." I told him. "It's alright, kiddo. What matters now is to tell the whole story on T.V with Caesar Flickermann." He explained to me.

I nodded my head up and down. I wore a yellow dress that was classy and elegant, with my hair in curly waves, and ballet flats. "You've done it again, Fabio. I always love my wardrobe because of you." I told him. "Well, I'm happy that you appreciate my taste in fashion, Hazel." he replied. I saw Cato wearing a blue tuxedo, walking towards me. "Ready Hazelnut?" he asked me with a smile. "Yes, Cat." I told him.

"By the way, you look beautiful, like always." he said. "You look handsome and dashing, as always." I replied. I looked a little nervous. "Hazel, don't worry you will be fine. Be honest and be yourself. I'm right here for you, and I love you." He told me and he hugged me. "I love you too, Cato." I replied. We both walked to the interview with Caesar.

"Hello, Hazel and Cato." replied Caesar, "How was the game?" "Very sad and very brutal, I know I had to kill. I was so emotional and I felt sad for the kids who had to die and suffer." I replied. "True, Hazel. What about you Cato?" asked Caesar. "Awesome, I knew that my Hazelnut and I would win." He said. He put both of his hand around me to hug me.

I smiled at him and he gave me his famous smirk. "What was the hardest part about the games for you guys?" "Seeing the people you care about die right in front of you." I said. "The hard part for me is to try to survive and stay live." replied Cato. "So, at the training center did you make any friends or enemies?" asked Caesar. "I made friends with everyone, and I had 1 enemy." I replied.

"Who was your enemy?" Caesar asked. "Katniss Everdeen, District 12." I replied. "Actually, she was a huge threat to everyone on The Careers." replied Cato. "So, who were your allies/best friends?" asked Caesar. "My best friends/ allies are: Marvel, Clove, Glimmer, and Cato." I said, and Cato nodded in agreement."So, describe who they like were to you."

"Glimmer, may act flirtatious and sexy. But, she has a heart of gold. Clove may be vicious and violent. Under that, she is very helpful and generous. Cato, he was strong, a great leader, and protective like a bear. He may be, scary at first. But, once you know him he's like a teddy bear that's what I love about him. Marvel, he may not be the smartest guy or the sharpest tool in the tool box. But, he's the best guy you can count on that will help you and protect you other than Cato. He was the guy that I loved other than Cato." I told Caesar.

"Nice clear and true description, Hazel." replied Caesar. "How do you describe Hazel, Cato?" He asked Cato. "A sweet girl, and who's protective towards her friends. Also, she's a very skilled fighter with awesome moves and weapon skills on every one. Brutal, when she wants to be especially on people who kills the one she cares about. Also, smart and makes everything happen in her way. She's also a very loving girlfriend who loves me for me and tries to calm me down whenever I get angry/temper mental.

She is very understanding, wise, and thoughtful of others. That's what I love about Hazel. I love you, Hazel." said Cato to me. "I love you too, Cato." "What do you realize in this experience in the games?" Caesar asked us. "I realize that this experience was a rollercoaster, and each moment of it was horrifying and hard. Especially, for the kids who are dead. Also, I had to keep my head high to win and make people proud." I said. "I knew that the more you practice and skill, you can overcome anything you try to achieve as long you try your best." said Cato.

"Well thank you for your time in this interview." said Caesar. "You're welcome, and thank you for having us." I told him. "You're welcome, sweetheart and gentleman." Caesar said. "Let's hear it for, the star-crossed lovers from District 4 and 2, Hazel Mayberry and Cato Hadley."

He put both of our hands up in victory. We both walked out of the stage. We ended up having crowns on our heads. I feel like queen and king of the world, in the game. Ok, I feel like a survivor and a winner. Right now, I'm living the dream and the people who I care about are in a nice place right now. I bet Clove, Glimmer, Marvel, and everyone else are watching over me right now. "I miss you, guys." I thought mentally.

"Well, Hazel we both won. I'm so happy, that right now I won with the person who I care about and love." said Cato. "Me too, Cato, thank you so much for helping me and trying your best to keep me alive I really appreciate it and I'm grateful for it." I told him. "You're welcome, love. You can ask me anything you want, and I will get it for you no matter what. Even if it takes having my life over, just to be with you." said Cato. "Thanks Cato, I would do the same for you too." I replied to him. We both smiled at each other.

Looked into each other's eyes, than Cato ran over and kissed me, I kissed back I put both of hands around his neck and his arms around my waist. "Don't let anyone do this to you. Got it? You are mine, understand?" he said protectively and possessively. "I understand, Cato." I replied. He started to go back into kissing me.

Then, Fabio came in and told us something. "Sorry to ruin your moment, President Snow needs you." He told us. "Ok, Fabio. Let's go Cato." I told him. He followed along behind us. "Yes, President Snow??" I asked him.

Cato followed along behind me and approached him. "Since you and Cato, won and broke the rule of 1 victor to 2 victors how about you 2 compete in next year's 75th Hunger Games?" he asked us.

"You've got to be kidding me." I answered.
