I was reluctantly walking with Dream to a mine, I knew I had to try and mine eventually but I was still filled with a sense of dread. I left Plucky at the house for once because it would be too dangerous for him to tag along and didn't want him getting hurt.

"We're here, now where's Sapnap and George, I told them to get here early," Dream said mostly to himself as I stared into the cave entrance.

We waited for a few minutes before I heard someone's voice, "sorry were late I had to get this idiot because he refused to wake up," Sapnap said pointing at George

"Honestly I'm not surprised," Dream said shaking his head, "anyway, this is (g/n)," I waved at the two.

"Hi, I'm George and the one next to me that rudely woke me up is Sapnap," George said crossing his arms.

I smile under my mask, their banter shows they're good friends, I thought, briefly forgetting the other reason for being here before Dream spoke, "You ready to mine, (g/n)," I didn't respond, "Don't worry the three of us will be on guard."

I took a deep breath and smiled weakly, "Okay let's go."

It wasn't too bad, and we were surprisingly organised at first. I mined the coal and iron that was near the entrance, George was in front, lighting the way I wanted to go with torches while Dream and Sapnap (who I assume are better at fighting) looked for mobs with their axes out, Dream watching out behind us and Sapnap looking out in front.

We made progress quite slowly because we were joking about and Sapnap and George kept trying to bury eachother with gravel but I didn't mind, it was helping calm my nerves.

A few hours later and the only mobs we saw was a couple of zombies, I didn't mind them too much because unlike other mobs they couldn't move fast or explode or do ranged attacks, instead they were just slow moving creatures. I still didn't like to look at them because thet are literally moving corpses and the thought of it made me feel uneasy.

The encounter with the first zombie almost made me laugh because of George and Sapnap's reactions, "GEORGE YOU DIDN'T LIGHT UP THE CAVE ENOUGH THERES A ZOMBIE, (g/n), everything is okay," Sapnap practically screamed at George and said reassuringly to me.

I looked at Dream confused by Sapnap's over the top reaction. "I over-exaggerated that you don't like mobs and didn't mention any specific ones so if ever you hang out with them and I'm not there, they know to take care of the mobs as fast as possible," Dream explained.

"Thank you," I said and hugged him.

"Look what you done George, (g/n) was so scared she ran to Dream," Sapnap said.

"It's not my fault I had to be on watch for you dropping gravel on me and light the cave," George argued.

The three's relationship is very sibling-like, a mixture of jokes, arguments and although none of them would say it, it's clear that they would risk their lifes if one of them was in danger.

"What's that light up ahead," George said bringing me back to reality from the recent memory.

"I wanna see," Sapnap said running ahead to the hole in the wall, "Yo (g/n) check it out, there's gonna be a decent amount of stuff here,"

I walked over looking at what was there and It was a ravine.

I immediately fell down in fear and started to hyperventilate, crawling backwards until I bumped into something. I turned my head and saw green so I immediately ran forward. The only things that stopped me from falling in the ravine was George quickly blocking the hole and Sapnap pulling me into a hug to try and calm me down.

"It's okay (g/n), you're okay. Try to copy my breathing," he said breathing in and out slowly.

It took a few minutes but eventually my breathing calmed down enough to say, "Can we go now." The three all nodded and we made our way out of the cave.

"Are you okay (g/n) what happened," Dream asked concerned.

I told them about what happened in the ravine before I met Dream, but, instead of saying I died I said that someone brought me to a village and healed me before leaving.

"So when I turned around the first thing I saw was the green on Dream's hoodie and I thought it was a creeper because of seeing the ravine," I said slightly calmed down but still shaking.

"If you don't want to you don't need to go mining again we have spare diamonds and netherite," Dream said.

"I'm fine just using the iron I got mining," I said not wanting to hassle anyone more than I already had, "If it's okay, I just want to stick to meeting more of the people here."

"Sure we can see if we can find Tubbo tomorrow," Dream said.
