"Yes, mom, I know," Momo mumbled for what felt like the fiftieth time that day. "I and your father need you to come early so that we can dress you and make sure you look perfect alright?" Her mother called out from over the line and Momo could easily picture the stern expression on her face as she said those words.
"I can dress myself mom im not a kid anymore," she was standing outside of the auditorium and watched as all the remaining students of Majestic Academy went inside one by one. It was the first day of school. As usual, they were having a meeting in the auditorium with all the students and staff present. However, Momo was stuck outside with her mom giving her a list of things to do before she attends the dinner party which was only a few days away now.
"Of course, you're not a kid," there was a sharpness in her attitude. "You're going to become an adult in a few months. And you have so much to learn still,"
"Still? Mom, im not taking any more tutoring lessons. Academy Vacations are over, I have to worry about school now."
"Well, there's still one more thing that's left to be taught. And I want it done personally by me. Remember, the dinner party is in five days, 4 pm sharp. And no battle at the Royal Castle is going to save you this time." Her mother was dismissive and before Momo could try one last time to argue her way out of it, the call declined.
The dinner party was supposed to be held months ago but because of the attack on the Royal Castle, strict rules were placed upon the people of Majestia, one of them being no one was allowed to leave their homes once the moon could be seen in the night sky. It was only recently that the members of her family thought it was okay to hold a gathering.
Everyone was going to be there, along with her brother Yuta. She'll be meeting a ton of her cousins and relatives.
Momo held the phone tight in her hands, still pressed up against her ears. She exhaled a deep breath before putting it in the pocket of her pants and heading over to the auditorium. She walked in casually, trying not to show the scowl on her face.
Noticing the double holders occupying two rows in the front. Jogging up to them, she found a seat next to Namjoon and sat down silently.
She saw many students shuffling around, the large room now full of teenagers bustling around in an attempt to find seats.
"You good?" She jumped in surprise a bit as Namjoon bent down a bit to whisper in her ear.
"Huh, oh yeah no im fine," she replied in a monotone voice. Technically she's been through much worse when it comes to her mother.
"Was it your mother?" She glanced up at him, his purple hair had dwindled a bit and she couldn't help but wonder how it managed to make him look much more mature than he had the first time she'd seen him.
"How'd you know?" She questioned.
She wasn't particularly close with Namjoon. Of course not to say that she didn't trust him, it's just that some members were closer, and it's especially hard when you have thirteen other friends. You can't call every single one of them your best friend. It's just how it works.
"I know a thing or two about obsessive parents," he chuckled, a knowing smile growing on his face.
He was a quiet kid, a patient one. His eyes held a sense of knowing all as if he had all the answers to her questions. A gaze so full of warmth she wondered how he did it. How he managed to always seem so calm and comforting even at times like these when no one seemed to be happy.
