Chris' pov:

This is gonna be really hard for Astrid and I, we have had so many memories and I don't know if we can come back from the pain we caused each other. I love her so much and I want to try though, I just wish I knew what she was thinking.

I call an Uber and go to the park, as I'm getting out I see her sitting on a blanket with some food. I slowly walk to her and she notices and waves "hey.." I say while sitting down on the blanket "I'm sorry for putting you in an awkward situation, I just wish I knew what you wanted" she says sniffing a bit

I don't want her to cry but I think I might too "well I do love you, I always have and always will" I say and she smiles up at me "how do you feel about trying again though" she straight up asks "I don't know, I've seen you at your best and worst. I want to make you happy because you make me happy, but what if it doesn't work out again. I don't want to make you hurt more then you already have." I tell her my voice cracking a bit

She hugs me without saying anything "I'm so happy for you, in these situations you never wanted to talk about your feelings. You want to put people before yourself, I want whatever you want. If you want to try again Im here, but if not im still here as a friend." She explains to me making me really feel safe

"How about one date, let's see what happens. After this if we feel it's right to get back together then let's do it." I say "okay, what do you wanna do today?" She asks me "Dave & busters?" "Sure why not" we get up and clean up the blanket, I help her put her stuff in her car then I go to mine. I sit in my car before leaving, I text Matt and tell him what's happening and he thinks it's a good idea.

I head to Dave & Busters and see an open parking spot by the front. I get out and see Astrid already inside getting a card, I go up next to her and hold her hand. "Hey, this is for you." she says handing me a card "thank you" I say and we go to the games, we are really having fun.

Before we started we went to the prize area and picked a huge cat squishmallow as something we are gonna try to get. We play all of the games that give tickets then the games that don't, and last but not least the claw machines. I won a weird frog plush but Astrid is going for a big elephant, after spending most of her credits she gives up.

As we are about to enter the prize area a boy comes up to us "hey, I say you were trying to get the elephant...here" he says handing over the stuffed animal "oh.. thank you so much" Astrid says to him, I don't say anything because I know what I want now.

After the date I walk with her to her car and we stand in silence for a bit "so.." I say trying to break the silence "I think we feel the same" Astrid says "really? Then what do I feel?" I ask her jokingly "we really love each other and should be together forever and ever" Astrid says in a high pitched voice making me laugh "friends?" I ask "friends" she says then hugs me
