It was Halloween night, 7pm, and you were sitting alone in your Halloween costume watching movies and eating candy you bought for yourself.
"God Halloween is so boring when you're not a small kid." You thought. While little kids were running around with each other having the time of their lives, you were sitting in your bedroom doing a whole bunch of nothing. You only put on your Halloween costume so you could feel a bit more immersed in the spooky mood, but it seemed useless. You heard a ringing at your doorbell. You assumed it was just more trick or treaters coming to get some sweets.
"Y/N! YOU'RE FRIENDS ARE HERE!"
"Huh?" You rushed to the door and saw F/M stood beside Chongyun, Xingqiu, Heizou, Kuki and Yanfei. They were all dressed for the occasion as well. Heizou was Sherlock Holmes, Yanfei was a judge, Xingqiu was the Mad Hatter and Kuki was cowgirl. Xingqiu was reading a book titled "Flowers for Princess Fischl" You remained still for a moment, surprised at the suddenness of the visit.
Chongyun was the first to speak up. "Hey Y/N, sorry for bursting in so unexpectedly."
"There's a Halloween festival going on nearby. Wanna come with?" Yanfei asked.
Heizou laughed. "You're acting as if we didn't purposefully take a detour to ask them to come."
"That's true. But, c'mon, it wouldn't be the same without Y/N." Kuki said with a smile, looking you in the eyes.
Xingqiu finally stopped reading his book and looked at you. "Whaddya say Y/N? Not like you have much of a choice hmm?"
You looked around at your friends. You felt an amazing feeling wash over you. Like you really belonged among others. Before you could bask in your further, you felt a hand grab onto yours. It was Heizou's.
He smiled at you as he pulled you along. "C'mon or we're gonna be late for the festival~!" the group of you rushed out the door, the cool October breeze hitting your skin. Despite that, your face warmed up and you blushed and giggled. This was going to a nice night.
At the festival
The streets were bustling and full of life, lined with stalls full of yummy food and souvenirs. There were many marigolds in the surrounding area, shining in the light of the moon. Heizou bent down and picked one up.
"Aren't these beautiful? In Mexico they're well known as the flowers of the dead." He handed it to you. You gave him a smile and tucked it into your pocket.
"They indeed are!" A voice shouted. It was Hu Tao, somehow even happier than usual. Seemed like she was thriving off of the Halloween spirit.
"What're you doing here?!" Heizou asked. You realized there was likely some tension between the two since the haunted house. They were both the type who often took matters into their own hands, so it made sense that something like that could cause conflict.
"Ayaya, can't a girl just enjoy a festival in peace? Anyways, I'm just here to take Chongyun to the graveyard~. Cmon! The spirits are going to be especially active before midnight!" Hu Tao said, grabbing Chongyun by the collar, dragging him away.
"D-do I have to?" Chongyun groaned.
"Yes! We gotta go! I left Sucrose there and I'm scared she'll die of fear!" Hu Tao replied as she whisked him away.
