Chapter 5: Talks & Reunion

Ronnie and I were at Starbucks and he seemed extremely nervous.

"So what did you need to talk to me about?" I ask.

He looked very hesitant.

"Umm... It's about Max." He says.

I tensed up. I mean... I love and miss him but... He did so much to Ronnie and I... I don't know if I can handle the hurt again.

"What about him?" I ask.

"Did you see our interview?" Ronnie asks.

"Yeah..." I lie.

"No you didn't. You wrinkle your nose when you lie." He says.

"I saw some of it... I skipped the part where I'm brought up.." I say.

"Watch it..." He says.

I go on my phone and look up the video. I found 'Max Green talks about Katie Radke' and click on it.

"Now that we have the story on you and Ronnie. We need to ask about the other Radke." The interviewer says.

"Hit me." Max says.

"If Katie were here right now... What would you say to her?" The guy asks.

Max sighed. Ronnie nudged him then nodded. As if saying it's ok.

"I would say... I'm sorry... For everything... I know I did some hateful shit... I know I hurt her with not only my words but my actions. I... I broke the one promise I told her I'd never break. And that's break her heart. I love her so much... But I can't have her. That's what hurts the most. I fucked up. I know that. I own that. Nothing was her fault. My addiction was my own downfall. Katie stood by my side and gave me a second chance after Ronnie went to jail. Ronnie approved of it. From that day to the day I passed out on stage, she was there. She took me back no matter how many times I screwed up. I'm glad she's with her new guy. I see it all over the place. Her and her new boyfriend. Katie Radke and Dean Ambrose. Members of The Shield in WWE. I just hope that she can someday forgive me. That's all I want. I have Ronnie's forgiveness... I wanted that... But I need... Katie's forgiveness. That's all I need. To have them both back... Would be all I need in life." Max says.

I was in tears by the end.

"He really misses you... And you need to talk to him." Ronnie says.

I sniffle and he wipes my tears and so do I.

"He's here... He's in the car... He came with me." He says.

I look at him.

"Please talk to him." He says.

I nod and he lightly smiles. He walks out and I clean myself up. I text Jon and tell him.

I heard the bell at the door and looked up to see... Max. His hair was down and he looked... Better. I sit up straight and he sat across me.

"Max.." I say.

"Hi, Katie." He says.

I take in his look. He actually looked pretty damn hot. But I love Jon.

"You look different." I say.

"I hope that's a good thing." He says with a chuckle.

I giggle and touch his hair. It feels soft and healthy again.

"Much better than before." I say then trail my hand down his face.

He smiles and plays with my hair.

"You look even more beautiful. Although, I do miss the black hair." He says and we lightly laugh.

"Maybe I'll dye it back to black some day." I say.

"I'm looking forward to that." He says.

I smile.

"I just... I wanna apologize to you... I did a lot of fucked up shit... To you mostly. You were... My world... And I fucked it up. I just... I miss you. Before "us" you were my best friend. You and I use to irritate the shit out of our teachers. Ronnie and I use to pull you out of class early. We also use to sneak you into clubs with us with or without a gig... Then we helped you and your band..." He says.

"Yeah. I remember when me and Ronnie jumped off the stage and nearly fell on our asses crowd walking." I say and we laugh.

I was walking with Colby and Joe just to kill time before the show when Colby paused.

"What's up, Colbs?" Joe asks.

Colby points in a direction that Joe and I look in. I saw Katie talking and laughing with that Max Green guy.

I also know that he's her ex-boyfriend that was in a very deep drug addiction. Something Katie and Ronnie both over came in prison together.

"Jon, you ok?" Joe asks.

"Yeah... I'm fine. I trust Katie. Shed never hurt me. She told me that she was talking to him and that it was at Starbucks." I say.

They nod and we walk back to the car. Joe slowly drove past the shop and I saw Katie and Max hug and do a handshake then laugh as Ronnie walked up and hugged them both.

It party broke my heart.
