???, ???. 1999

Cindy was blankly sitting on the sofa, waiting for her husband to finish his 'at home' work.
or well,

waiting for his break time.

She was sitting with her youngest son, since the rest of her children were at school and she couldn't keep him unsupervised.

Steven exited the office.
"About time.." Cindy muttered.
"I'm sorry, I tried to be-"
"I don't care, you should be out here with us anyways." Cindy cut him off.

Steven gritted his teeth.
"I'm just making money to support the family." He told her in a stern tone.
Cindy rolled her eyes.

"Daddy!" Their son bubbly shouted.
"Hello Elliot." Steven replied.
"Couldn't you be more enthusiastic?" Cindy spat.

"What do you want me to do, Cindy?!" Steven raised his voice.

"Oh be quiet, it's as if you hate him!" Cindy raised her voice back, standing up.

"Everything I do in this house, you get pissed off at! What? Just because I'm not doing it 'pErFeCtLy?!'" Steven mocked.

"Yes! Cause I want a perfect family! And you aren't fulfilling that role!" Cindy shouted.

"Mummy...Daddy...why are you shouting?." Elliot questioned in a quiet voice.

Steven stopped, he sighed before walking towards his room.

"That man never spends any time with his family.." Cindy muttered.

Steven sat down on his bed.
He was sick of this life.
He tries to work to support him and his kids, but only gets slapped in the face with 'you never spend time with them'.

Should he go through with the plan he made back when he was younger?
He was unsure.

"Mummy..draw with me!" Elliot commanded, holding a piece of paper out to her.
"Not..now." Cindy spoke in a stern tone.

"But..you never draw with me!" Elliot cried.
"ELLIOT HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU NO!" Cindy screamed at him, pushing him.
He fell onto to the floor, accidentally crumbling his drawing his was about to show his mother.

Elliot then started to cry.
"Oh my- stop being such a baby, get out of here." Cindy snapped.

He got up and ran to his fathers room.

"What's wrong, Elliot?" Steven questioned, he was really tired.

"I want to stay here with you.." His son cried.

"You know you're mother will get angry if you do." Steven sighed.
Elliot didn't respond.

"I broke my drawing.." he finally spoke out of the blue.
"How did you do that?" Steven questioned.

"Mummy pushed me and it broke" Elliot replied

Steven was sick of his wife.

Oh, but he's the one who "hates" his children.

"Elliot listen, I'm going to leave this family. I want you to stay here." Steven explained quietly.

"But...why?..." Elliot asked gloomily.

"Your mother. The only reason why." Steven replied.

He then stood up, walking out of the room.

.

Cindy was standing in the kitchen, she turned to him when he walked into the room.

"Come back to apologise?" She asked, stepping towards him.
His face expression changed, it looked as if it was fear.

Cindy crosses her arms.

"I'm not hearing an apology.." she mutters.

Steven opened the fridge, grabbing a glass bottle slowly.
Cindy was confused, she stepped towards him again.

Causing him to raise to bottle.

hitting her with it.

Elliot was staring at the whole thing happened, Cindy was bleeding out on the floor and Steven looked relieved but scared of what he just did.

Just then, the front door opened.

It was Tyler, he had returned from school.

"MUMMY!" Elliot screamed, a late response due to the fear.

"This is what you deserve, you stupid bitch."
