Elliot was sitting on the sofa, he never really hung out with his siblings.
So he always felt very, very alone.
Well, except when the cherry on top ice cream truck ad came on.
No one would believe him if he told them, so he acts normal when it happens.
The boy from the ad would climb out of the television and talk to him.
His name was Barnabas, he was a great friend to Elliot.
They spoke for hours.
Just about anything.
Elliot was glad to have a friend like Barnabas, he had another friend too! But he didn't see him as much as Barnabas. . .
Though, his siblings would always look at him weirdly whenever he spoke to the ice-cream man.
Allie even asked him one time,
"Who are you talking to?."
Elliot just told her that he was just talking to himself.
It didn't sit right with her for some reason.
Barnabas always assured Elliot that he was his best friend.
And that he could always rely on him.
He'd keep him safe from those people he keeps seeing in the house, they are not his family.

"You will? Do you promise?"
"I promise."
