(The chapters in the story are labeled differently. The number after the ":" is the actual chapter number. Also, I will not be putting warnings for individual chapters, but I will state them here and now: tw for cursing, blood, illness, and death. If I find any more tw's I will update accordingly.

I also started to write this story back in May. It is finished now, but this story does contain Technoblade. He plays a minor role, and I thought about removing him; however, I never want to forget him, and I feel like wiping his name from the story would be doing just that. Unless Techno's family or the SMP members state they don't want this, I will be leaving him in the story.

Please enjoy, "Who Lies in the End"

Caught red-handed with wrists clasped between iron. Not the best situation to be in, but certainly manageable.

"Fucking finally," the guard muttered as they pulled him off of the ground by his elbow.

With a quick glance around him, Dream could count four guards. One behind him, holding his elbow, another to his left with a hand on his sword, and two more keeping a perimeter in case he tried to make a break for it. Iron armor, iron swords, and unenchanted bows. They were better decked than him, but they certainly could have more.

"Alright, we take him back to the capital for trial. Techno will meet us halfway: he's bringing the horses."

Shit. Now that's a problem. This problematic situation would turn dire if Techno got here, so he had to act fast.

The woods they were in were thick, so it should be easy to lose them; however, he will need to create some distance. Dream didn't have much left. They already took his weapons, and he forwent armor earlier in exchange for stealth. All that left him was...

Dream clenched his jaw at the thought. He could feel the small pendant burn against his sternum, hidden underneath his shirt and cloak. It thrummed with idle power, just waiting for its moment to be utilized.

Alright. Fine. But first...

"One of you in front, the other to the back," the guard holding him instructed the two men with bows, before nodding to the one with the sword, "you grab his other arm. Can't have him escaping."

Dream smirked and was glad they couldn't see it. His face was completely hidden by the white ceramic mask, keeping all his intents secret from prying eyes.

He waited until he felt the second guard grab his elbow. Once they both had a firm grip, Dream jumped, bringing his knees to his chest and swinging his bound hands under so they were in front. The guards began to shout and he heard the subtle thrum of two arrows being released from their strings.

Dream leaned back, pulling the guard on his right with him to take one of the oncoming arrows. The second arrow skimmed over his shoulder, cutting through the green fabric and knicking his skin. The one who got shot screamed out, allowing Dream to wrench his arm free. He grunted as the hand still holding his left arm pulled him to the ground. Dream used the momentum to keep the two of them rolling on the forest floor.

More footsteps were closing in. Shit. Taking a deep breath, Dream felt the hidden pendant swell with energy. Under the mask, his eyes flashed with a green glow as he stared at the trunk of a tree nearby. The tree flickered with a similar glow as the leaves became dappled with small purple boxes. The boxes creaked open, revealing a white creature inside that shot out an orb at the guards.

"What the hell?!"

"Fucking, shit!"

The guards began to panic as their bodies became weightless and began to float upwards. Dream chuckled at the sight of their frantic movements and desperate -yet failing- attempts to stay grounded; however, the guard still had a hold on him, and now they were both floating into the sky.
