George didn't want to believe it, but how could he deny what he was seeing? He was there. He was right there. Same blonde hair, same tan skin, same scar on his right cheek, it was all the same.

Half of his body was sitting in the bedrock fountain, but it was hidden under the starry void that filled the base. His torso, however, was slung over the side at an odd angle that made George think the spine was broken.

George dropped to his knees beside the fountain. His whole body was numb with pain and anguish as he stared down at the still body of Dream. Without the mask, George could finally see his face. It was normal. A regular nose, a normal cheek, plain, dark eyebrows were half hidden by blonde hair, and ordinary eyes were closed as if he were asleep.

Pale fingers hovered closer to the still face, nervous to see if it was actually there. They flinched back when he touched the very real skin on Dream's cheek, "Oh my gods..."

"George! What did you- oh,"

George didn't look back, but he heard his friends running over, "He's here. Dream is here."

"I don't understand."

"We saw Dream die in the overworld: Techno has his body."

"So, why then, is he here?"

George let their voices fade into chatter as he traced his fingers along Dream's face. His heart broke and his eyes burned with new tears as he memorized the once hidden face. He trailed his fingers over his lips, but he stalled when he felt air brush against them.

Mocha eyes widened, "Oh my gods, he's alive!"

"What?!"

George set his fingers along the pulse in Dream's neck. His heart began to pound when he felt a pulse, "He's alive! Dream's alive!"

He shot to his feet and hooked his arms under Dream's. Carefully, he pulled his partner out of the fountain, ignoring the awkward way the blonde spine moved. Sam and Tubbo rushed forward to help and the three of them set the outlaw along the end stone. George could feel the white blob tossing and turning on his shoulder the entire time as the moved Dream. The realization made George panic.

"He's hurt," George whipped around to Karl, "Use the Revive book."

Sapnap interjected, "Can't you summon healing potions with the Creative Block?"

Mocha eyes shot murder at his friend, "I don't have the energy to summon a strong enough potion; moreover, there isn't a potion potent enough to heal whatever damaged Dream has. We need the Revival Book: nothing has stronger healing."

Karl took out the green and black book from his bag, "I'm too nervous to use it- I could end up botching the spell; Ranboo," he held the book out to his tall friend, "You're the next best person."

Ranboo's eyes widened as he stared at the book, "Why-"

"I don't care who cast the damn spell, just someone please save him! I will not lose him again," George shouted at his friends with as much venom and desperation as he could muster.

Ranboo took the book without question. He gulped as he flipped through the pages, his eyes frantically jumping around the moving words. He stepped up beside Dream's body while Sam and Tubbo stepped back; George, however, remained.

He stayed sat beside the body, opposite the side of Ranboo. His whole body was on edge as he stared down at his partner. He could see the shallow rise and fall of Dream's chest as each breath got shorter. George's heart thundered in his ears, blocking out any other sound.
