All four of us remaining champions were currently sitting in Professor McGonagall's office, waiting for her to tell us what us champions would have to go through next.

Maybe dragons, or something else that could possibly kill us.

“As always the TriWizard Tournament holds a special dance, the Yule Ball. You four will lead the dance, so make sure you find a partner.” We were dismissed, and we all filed out.

There was one week until the dance, and I had no idea who I was going to get to go with me. There wasn't many boys who I hung out with at this school. I mainly hung out with Joey and Lillianna, and neither of them were guys.

I walked through the castle and into the Gryffindor common room.

“Did you get a new assignment? What is it this time? Fighting a dragon? Dueling with the remaining champions?”

“No, actually she told us about a ball. The four of us would led the dancing, so I have to find a partner in a week, and I don't know who to ask.” I sat down and curled up next to the fire. The castle was always drafty and the winter cold was seeping in fast.

“Oh, so little miss I can fight a three-headed dog and a sphinx, plus go underwater and save your little brother while battling mermaids, can't find a date to a ball?” Joey asked me, scoffing in disbelief.

I rolled my eyes at her. “Yeah, well all those challenges seem easier by comparison. Asking someone out frightens me.”

She stood up, stretching her arms above her head. “I can help you there.” She walked over to one of the cuter guys in Gryffindor, whose name I didn't know and started talking to him, she motioned to me.

I glanced up at Lillianna, a horrified expression on my face and she smirked. “What is she doing?”

“Getting you a date, it seems.” Then she cracked open a thick novel and began to read it, completely oblivious to the world around her.

Joey came back with a smile on her face. “He said he would love to go with you!”

“Joey!” I got up and smacked her with the back of my hand. “I don't even know his name!”

“Its Chris, and he really wants to go with you.” She smiled, and no matter how much I glared or yelled at her, it wouldn't wipe that smile off her face.

§ Night Of The Dance §

I glanced at myself in the mirror, as Lillianna was spraying hairspray over my hair. I was wearing a Caribbean blue dress that went to the floor, and my hair was up in an elegant bun. Lillianna was wearing a pink dress, and Joey was nowhere to be found. I wondered where she was or what she was up to.

When Liliana was ready, we both went downstairs where my date was waiting. Lillianna was too shy to ask someone, and refused to let Joey ask someone for her. And she was allowed to go to by herself.

I hooked my arm through Chris's and we made our way to the Great Hall, with Lillianna following in our wake. Professor McGonagall stopped me and Chris, and Lillianna went inside, waving at me.

All the champions were lined up in a row with their escorts. First Cara and her date, then Skylar and her date, Ava and her date, and then me with Chris.

Me and Chris stood facing each other as the music began, and we danced the way Professor McGonagall had taught us. Soon couples were dancing all around us. As the song ended, I saw Joey in the corner of the room, in a pair of torn jeans and a tank top, despite the winter chill.

What was she doing?

I pulled away from Chris, “I'll be right back.” I told him, then followed Joey out the door. As soon as I had stepped into the hallway, Professor McGonagall pulled me to the side.

“Someone is going to pull some sort of prank tonight, I need you and the other champions to stop the prankster, this dance cannot be ruined by some michevious student.”

She walked away, her wand in her hand and she was muttering to herself. Joey, what on earth are you planning?

I half-ran down the hallways, my heels clacking. I needed to find Joey, and stop her before she did somehting stupid that got her expelled.

I found her, with an extendable ear that was lowered down into another room, she was listening to someone's conversation.

“Joey, what are you doing?”

“Go back to the dance, Phe, you do not want to get involved.” She listened to the extendable ear again, focusing on that conversation.

“Why don't I?”

“Okay fine. You know when the Slytherins put that fake lion and snake in front of our common room? The one where it looked like the snake had killed the lion?” I nodded my head, most of the Gryffindors had been angry for weeks, plotting revenge.

“Well, its payback time, all the Slytherins ditched the dance after the first song, and are in this room below me. But soon they'll be covered in red slime and then there will be fireworks. Its gonna be a night to remember.” She rubbed her hands together evilly, and gave an evil laugh, like one of those villains in a cartoon.

“Go back to the dance.”

I shook my head and headed down the hall, back to the dance, Joey was right, I didn't want to be a part of this.

I walked back into the Great Hall and after about ten minutes of dancing with my date, there was screaming and a herd of Slytherins, came running into the Great Hall, all covered from head-to-toe with bright red slime, it even had golden sparkles in it.

Then with a loud explosion, fireworks began to explode, bright red and golden. At the end of the display were the words, 'Gryffindor rules, jerks!'”

I shook my head, but was laughing the whole time. Wow Joey, just wow.

That may be worth the year's worth of detention she's going to have.
