Opposites Attract

~CHAPTER THREE~

Once I get home from my complicated school day, I sit at my desk and unzip may bag to unpack all my books when I find the algebra books stuffed in the top of my bag. Omg Colton must have put it in there when he took my bag. I'm still mad about that. How dare he take my personal property. What if there was something like drugs or it he opened the wrong pocket and found my tampons. That would have traumatised the both of us. And not only that but he also made me lose, and I never lose. He may have won this time, but now I can talk to him again, he won't win again.

I take out the science assignment sheet and look at what I have to do for it. Great we will get assigned groups of 3 for the project. I hate it when the teachers assign groups cause they always choose the worst people to be in your group. I read through what we have to do, and realise we have to do everything in our own time. Which means whoever's group I'm in, I have to spend time with them outside of class. Great, this is just great. First day back and I already want to quit.

I light a candle and start making some notes for the science task that will be helpful. I'm not dumb, but in not really smart either. I'm and average student and get mostly c's and b's. I take about 15 notes and then go and sit on my bed and pick up the book I've been reading and sit down opening to the page I'm on. I read until I hear my mum call my name for dinner.
I walk into the kitchen and take a plate and fill it with the delicious smelling chilli con Carne. I take it over to the table and take a seat next to my younger brother, Isaac.
"Hey Delly" he says.
"Hey buddy, how was school?" I ask giving him a little rub on the head.
"It was good. I'm in Mrs trinity's class this year, Luca and James is in my class as well," he says. He goes on a small rant about his day and what he did.
"So Delly, what did you do today?" My dad asks.
"Oh um I got handed out 2 assignments. Ones a group assignment and Mrs Taylor assigns the groups. Oh and also I have a detention tomorrow afternoon." I say quickly.
Both my parents look at me wide-eyes.
"A detention?!" Mum asks.
"Yeah when I got the assignment sheet from Mrs Taylor, the sheet had a mistake on it so I asked her what the correct one was and she got mad and gave me a detention. And the worst part is I have to go to a detention with Colton."
"Colton Bradbury?" My mum asks.
"Yeah" I confirm
"Oh I'm friends with his mum. He seems nice." She says giving me a wink. I gagged loudly and then my dad changed the conversation.

After we finished dinner, I went to my room and texted Cam

Cam
Hey cam,
You'll never guess what happened today!

What happened

When I went to the library to find you, I remembered I needed an algebra book to study for the in-class pre-test And you will never guess who took the last copy in the library from me!

Colton Bradbury! He's such a Prick!

I bet you he only did it because he wants to get closer to you 😏

EW no way. He hates me he literally teases me all the time. And when I was walking home today he took my bag from me!

Gurlie you're so dumb.

Hey I am not! Trust me he doesn't like me.

Okay whatever you say! I have to go have a shower. Later.

See ya tmr.

Cam is no help. I get out of bed and go have a shower.

~the next day~
I got up when my alarm woke me. Today I curled my hair and put on a bit of mascara and lipgloss. I packed the books I needed and said good bye to my mum.
When I got on the bus cam was there with a seat next to her.
"Hey Delly" she said
"Hey Cam," I said and I nodded at Lilah and Blakely. Then I whispered,
"Do you know if Lilah is mad at me cause she isn't talking to me anymore, less than usual anyways." Cam just shook her head.

We got to school and cam walked over to her locker. Mine was in a different part of the school from hers so I left her to go put my books in it. Once I got there I saw to people full on eating each other's faces right against my locker. Then I realised, that's Colton, I took a quick picture to show cam later and then I walked over to him. I tapped him on the shoulder and he broke the kiss.
"Get a room," I said looking at him dead in the eyes.
I looked at the girl raised my eyebrows asking her what she was looking at. Colton cleared his throat and looked at the girl, "I guess we could continue this later" Colton said with a shrug. I guess we can continue this later?! Who even says that? Especially to a girl who you just made out with. She gives him a small smile, more than he deserves, and walks away.
"Are you jealous?" He says in a teasing tone. Jealous? Who does he think he is?
"Jealous? Why would I be jealous of a stupid girl who thinks she's special for getting you to make out with her, when you're the biggest man-whore in the whole school. Seriously you've made out with 80% of the girls in this school!"
"80%? I don't keep count but at least I know you do" he says winking.
"Ugh get a life" I scoff rolling my eyes and turning to my locker.
I open it but he slams it shut again. I turn sharply to face him,
"What the hell was that for?" I raise my eyebrows.
"Are you excited for our detention together this afternoon. You'll want me to eat your face but the end of the day" he says winking at me once more and turning away, walking down the corridor.
Ugh he's such a prick!
